I am thinking about this to replace a 600 watt HPS for flowering

I ran 8 vero 29's in 15 sq ft.A at about 650 watts. 3 k color. Worked great. I'm running 16 3590's now and see a bit better yield due to more cobs, better spread. Kits are cheaper. Tons of good choices.

The fellow at the company responded quickly and said the Triple Vero set up might be the best bet. A new Quad version is coming out soon. Seems like they have fast customer service.

Have you ever thought about induction lighting? I hear people popping up time to time switching to those from hps. Not 100% sure on the efficiency compared to quality cobs. But seeing how your already knowledgeable and experienced with DIY, i would run the veros over the P&P as you know what your building and getting out of it.

A company in Tenn was selling off loads of induction lights cheap on ebay recently but they were 240 v or 480. Really cheap deals.

I buy induction lamps sometimes cos there so cheap, "bare bulb" they are about 5 to 10c hotter per M than using a hps in a cool tube for the same kinda power use, but yeah you get a lot of nice blues off the cool white ones and the warm whites give you nice amounts of hairy buds

Probably not more efficient than hps mind but with no cooling the lamp will still be safe to touch where as a hps needs a load of airflow to not burn your hand, some induction lamps can go upto 90% undetected by a power meter but depends on the power meter as there`s a chance some meters will read their power draw as more

Where can you get them? Thanks for the suggestions. Undetected by your testing power meter or the electrical company? LOL! It would be nice if it is the electric company

Too hot and electrical drain. I would also consider 315 W LECs. Equivalent to a 600 HPS
http://growershouse.com/ceramic-science-315w-cmh-light-conversion-kit

This conversion and I would add a 45" parabolic reflector with a bulb pointing down. I know a grower using pretty cheap Parabolic set up with 1000 watt HPS that pulls 2 lbs a light.

if you wanna cool things down then you want some 100w to 150w cobs running @ 50 to 80w, the CBX type cobs seem to be some of the best, I just buy 3000k or 5000k go buy price and spec but I like 300w to 1000w cob/smd based chips now less wiring for more power.. but you want to lower heat and use less power.... so I`d go 50w to 100w per chip and spread them out

got a 300w one like this for about £30 3/4 months ago swapped it out for my 600w mh (was running @400w) and its doing my veg now, along with the 150w led that`s always been in there

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200-w-induction-grow-light-with-ballest-/232089411282?hash=item36099b5ed2:g:94MAAOSwmfhX3ls-

then there`s some 200w tubes in the usa, you`ll need drivers for them

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIN-TP-200W-INDUCTION-LAMPS-200W-RECTANGULAR-INDUCTION-LAMP-6K-/361650997766?hash=item5434144a06:g:cY0AAOxyXDhShBXT

think I paid £5 for a 200w driver the other month

So yeah I`d pay £100 to £200 for a 200w to 400w induction lamp ready to use max

cos I have got a working 300w brand new lamp for £30 to 40 before so don`t get ripped off

400 watts at $280. Lasts a long time. It uses 400 watts? Is comparable to a 400 watt HPS?

Any idea why I would not buy a 8 light T5 for $130 using 432 watts for 40,000 lumens?

Just trying to figure out what is the best option.

Stupid ebay I search induction lights and those shitty Mars Hydro LEDs still come up. Man eBay and Amazon really push that Burple stuff hard.
