Now internet porn, that's a real addiction.

Login to check email, then BAM, next thing you know you're ripping the head off to Shitting Midgets 7.
haha wtf.... maybe that's you man, maybe that's you...

Also, to people that say weed isn't addictive because there are no physical side effects, then I guess you can say tobacco isn't addictive either. I smoked a pack+ a day for 13 years and quit cold turkey. I was a dick for a couple days, and craved cigarettes, but there were no physical withdrawals. But to say tobacco isn't addictive is fuckin retarded. Basically, if you have to have the shit or you turn into a dick and crave it and can't stop thinking about it, you're addicted. I think it's different from person to person too. I'm sure some people get the shakes and night sweats when quitting tobacco; I didn't have any shit like that.

addiction is a chemical unbalance cause by drug abuse . . .. . . . that makes your body crave it . .. . .but you would know more then experience im sure

your body literally learns to need the chemicals that come from drug abuse, through release or dopamine and serotonin . . . . weed doesn't do this

chocolate cake does

get educated or get out
What the fuck? I agree with you and get shit?

You want a medal for being a former junky or what?

I once had to take morphine and then codeine for a long period (very nasty motorcycle accident) and once asked the doc about addiction.
'What does it matter?' he said? 'You're going to have to take them constantly for years anyway'.
Unfotunately, I didn't like the side-effects, especially the kidney infection brought on by prolonged use of co-proxamol (now banned). I reckon weed took 3 years off the time I had to take those drugs. I even told the doctor (I had since I was a toddler, now retired, he would prescribe me 600 co-proxies a time) and he just winked at me and said 'good idea'. This was 20 years ago.
Anyway my point is this. Worry about drugs if they are doing you harm. By this I mean physically (coughing in the case of weed), financially (either buying it or being too stoned to work!) or just simply feel like a break.
Giving up weed isn't hard. It's the cigarettes I wish I could quit.

and ya us junkies, who other then those effected by addiction would have a better personal understanding . . . want to know what really helped my quit . . .mushrooms .. .

Man you hit the nail on the head.

Tabacco is devils smoke I just can't break the habit... Like no joke when I run out of cigs I fuckin search everywhere for hours like a fiend on my hands and knees just trying to get my next fix it's fucking awfull. The only ting that helps break the Tabacco addictions smoking a blunt when you get a craving but you need a lot of weed to do this when you get cravings 10-15 times a day. Maybe after I harvest outdoor I'll quite smoking cigarettes using the blunt technique

When I used to smoke 2 packs a day for 2 years I finally stopped by just smoking blunts, and I was able to stay off smoking cigs for a year. But then I started mixing Tabacco and weed and smoking snaps out of bong it started at just one a day and it would put me on my face for an hour. But now I'm doing like 20 a day and I don't even get high

Cannabis is more addictive than all other drugs. Thc attaches to fat cells and can stay in your system for years ,this is why a couple of years after giving up you will still get cravings. In case your wondering why its so fucking hard to give up.

i quit smoking cigarettes easy last year after smoking about 30 years.
i thought about not smoking pot today when i got up this morning, then i said why?
i smoke most of the day, everyday. doesn't create any problems so i don't worry about it.
but good luck to those who want to take a break, more power to you :eyesmoke:

You all say you're addicted but you're not, it's all in your mind, the problem is you've made it part of your life and feel without it you'd die. As said adiction is a body effect not a mental effect. Sure I smoke and enjoy it but sure as hell I'm not adicted. If you were adicted your body would crave it so bad that you'd do anyting to get it and if you could'nt you be in rehab. Adiction is the body unable to survive without it. You've all stopped at one time or another and you didn't die....'course just my opinion.

i use a tv, thats another thing i have a real hard time sleeping without, the dead quiet for some reason keeps me up, u think itd be th opposite

I had to comment on this I have major problems with insomnia Ambien, Advil PM, or any medicine that's supposed to help with sleep doesn't work anymore the only thing that works is weed. Mental or not I'd rather smoke than to take pills that make me feel sick and don't even work.

I'm all for using mj to help you sleep, or whatever in a manor it's medicinal. I just question those who say without mj they'd go crazy, not knowing what to do. It's as if their lives have come to an end. " I'm adicted " it's been medically proven that mj is not adictive.

if you could only have one, pot or cigs, and you choose cigs your not a real pot head, your a cigarette head who smokes pot. I smoke cigs some days other days i dont even. never got any withdrawl at all. if i dont smoke pot a few times a day id freak by the time night comes around because im addicted to pot wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than cigs ever could hook me. you cant use a prybar to get a pot head away from pot, if your not addicted i dont know how you do it but im 100% hooked. (not the worst thing ever:) but how you can say its not sounds like a daydreaming 14 year old kid with a lot of wishes pot heads dont quit and if they do they will always think about it cause its addictive no argument to be made from the other side i am hooked on grass, in my high ass opinion could you ever see me quit? that would be the fucking day cause i aint quitting

Yeah I'd pretty well say I'm addicted. I know it's not physical in the sense of withdrawals and whatnot, but I sure as fuck ain't sleeping if Im not stoned. And I smoke it sneakily while I work, that makes me
feel most like an addict, can't even wait 8 hours...pathetic.

I smoke copious amounts and have done for over 35 years, addicted yes, proud of it no, going to stop - fuck no way it would probaly kill me if I stopped. I feel in the early days it kinda help shape me into who I am today, fat, smelly, unshaven, lazy no good piece of shite. I can't be that lazy tho' as I worked my way up to manager in all the jobs I ever had and I now run my own business (not selling weed). I can not remember the last time I did not have anything to smoke, pass me that rope I'll smoke it.
1st toke of the day on the bog 10 minutes after getting up, last toke - just before I brush my teeth for bed. 20 - 30 spliffs a day keeps the doc away oh and lay off the booze.

I find it very interesting that you said your an addict. I feel that I was addicted to weed, and still am... Sure its not coke addictive or the substance isn't addictive, but the feeling and lifestyle is.. I went from totally being against smoking to rollin dubies at parks to owning a 3(6) foot zong which i ripped multiple times a day, every day. I "quit" too many times but never really stopped. I sorta realized the lifestyle that stands behind it, and although i don't speak for everyone, it seems as if my progress of life stopped as I started smoking. Sure I graduated high school and then went to the university of oregon, did well, and smoked a shit ton of herb, but i didn't really grow up at all. I never really, "manned up" so to say. For the past 6 months or so, I haven't bought weed once and have been trying to get my skills back. Im growing a plant cause my gf wanted to get one for her window, but we decided to make it interesting and worth while. so were growing weed lol. U cant be addicted to weed, but it can become the most dependent thing you have. The most common and important thing in your life, which i think is just as bad.

I used to smoke everyday probably about 1/4 to a 1/2 zip a week. Then my wife got in a bad accident, and I went through alot of emotional/mental stress. Ever since then. It hasnt been the same. First time I toked after the accident I almost had an anxiety attack. Sucks, because it use to put me in a perfect relaxed state of mind. I have smoked probably 5 times in the last year and it just isnt the same.
