Hydroponic Vertical Grow

First I'd like to give credit where it is due. Green Bastards vertical grow was the first that got me hooked on vertical. Obviously awesome set up. Then in my search for more verticals I found Heath Robinson's.
My set will be pretty much a copy of Heath's (only scrog instead of SOG), because it better suits ME, not because it’s better. I prefer 600w lights – plus I already own one. I don’t want to mess around with soil and individual watering.
Construction started today, but had to stop because of the time and noise.

Photos will follow, once it's built.

Design is simple, a regular octagon, each side measuring 600mm external. Internal width at it's widest about 1400mm. Flexible 100mm non perforated drainage pipe set in a circle within the octagon, stepping down 200mm at the end of each lap with 5 laps. Inside diameter of the pipe will be about 1200mm.
Before each step down a shim will be placed under the pipe to raise it up 50mm - basically creating a dam so that each level of pipe will be half full of water. The water will drain off into an external reservoir and recirculate at about 500-1000Ltrs per hour.
A screen will be fitted about 150mm away from the pipe, forming a cylinder inside. A large fan will blow to the top of the octagon, where the extraction and filter will be fitted, with 2 smaller fans blowing downwards. I'll be using a single 600w HID light (MH then HPS) this grow with possibly two in the future. The whole of the inside will be lined with insulated radiator foil (same as Heath used).
The actual growing area will be about 1400mm high but the room is raised 1000mm to allow access from underneath, with a step inside (metal grate) and the large fan under the step.
For the first grow I will only be using 12 plants (financial restraints) so I'll only be using 3 levels with 4 plants on each.

By my third harvest I plan to have a separate veg room. By the fourth I will either run two lights in the flowering room and do a perpetual harvest or have two flowering rooms and stagger them by 4 weeks (either way making constant use of my veg room).

Is a perpetual scrog feasible? Which way do you think would work best? I don't want to go above using 3 600watt lights
My aim is to be getting 1gpw by my third grow and 1.5gpw by the fourth. Heath and Green Bastard both smashed these bench marks using vertical, so I’m hoping to scrape by them.

Any suggestions/tips/feedback are most welcome.
