You will need to spray paint the plastic black on outside so no light gets to the roots and I am not sure if wood is a good idea for mold reasons. Others may disagree with me so lets see. Looks awesome get some air stones in there and crank it up.

nice... the seedlings are beefstake tomatos and serrono peppers dont know if i spelt it right, but they are hotter than "Jolepenos"( i dont care how its spelt) and cooler than habaneros.

the bigger seedlings are tomatos that sprouted 4 days ago, and the peepers just sprouted yesterday

NIce, Serrano's are great i do have a few . I LUV stuffed Serrano, usually with a scotch Bonnet chilli chopped fine, mushroom chopped, onion, garlic, olive oil, a little bread crumbs Mixed with mince Pork meat . chop a a cap off the Serrano, stuff them full, whack them into Oven for 1hr on about 200 degree celsius.

I guess using wood must be ok, weird how your not supposed to use wood in soil due to mold yet hydro with wood is fine? I would keep an eye on the bottom of that wood as its going to be constantly wet. Sounds like you will start off fine but after time it will be a mess in the res I think. Good luck

thats gonna be some expensive tape for all that. IT doesnt look like light is going to hit the res even indirectly is why I suggested blackspray paint. User white spray paint after the black then. will be less than 5 bucks instead of that much on tape and the time it takes to tape a huge res like that.

I can tell you that he will only need one roll of that tape for that rez
Black reservoirs are bad, they get warm... bad advice
You said the paint is $5.00 well the tape is $7.25, I think that the the $2.25 is well worth not having a hot rez, but thats me
If the rez is under the light than it will be getting hit with light directly

you guys know thats not actually the rez its a flood trey :oim testing how a suspended ebb/flow would work:shock:.. its fail safe because if it ends up the roots dry out to fast from the air i can just fill the trey with clay pebbles and turn it into a reg ebb/flow.. ill get a better pic so you know what im talking about.

and ill have weekly plant updates starting monday

shit I thought that tape was way more than and white over black I thought makes white but fuck it taping is cool if its that cheap just a pain in the ass.

It isn't really a pain in the ass at all
The tape has a piece of paper on the back so to stick it on you need to remove the back piece of paper like a band-aid
Cut out the pieces to the length you need and then start sticking it on
I like to use a credit card to slide it on so that it goes on smooth without any air bubbles

It has been 1 week since the last update. i have moved all the seedlings into cups of perlite. the cup has a whole about 1 inch from the bottom to keep a rez for the roots to grow down into.

oh i cant wait to but them in my system.

ps.. i am using perlite because i was stupid and didnt start in rockwool

I moved the tomatoes into the hydro system and they seem to be doing fine for now. i need to go out anf get some more clay pebbles, I ran out.

I did not put the peppers into the hydrosystem because they all have started turning black, so when and if I see new growth I will transfer them into the system:confused:

enjoy..

i always like tips so tell me what im doing wrong
