I'm like a kid in a candy store when visiting a good hydro store. They are hard to find but so nice to have everything you need under one roof. You just have to watch them on the prices, sometimes they inflate prices just cause its specialized.

I finally bought the bullet and visited my local store. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. These guys were fantastic! The dude spent almost TWO HOURS with me just going back and forth about nutrients and equipment and organics vs chemical etc. The most amazing thing about the entire experience, after TWO HOURS instead of trying to sell me everything in the store, he gave me free samples of some nutrients that I was on the fence about. Then he told me to come back after using my Fox Farm soil and NH nutes, and he would give me a bag of canna coco soil, and canna a+b nutes FOR FREE to run a side by side comparison. AMAZING!

If anyone's in Florida (not sure if they are elsewhere), you HAVE HAVE HAVE to check Simply Hydro.

Yeah i have a great hydro shop basically next door, made it a point to befriend the owner as soon as they opened up. Spent probably an hour there today talking about everything grow related. Honestly the first shop i have been into that i actually talked to anyone though, every other shop it was in and out as fast a possible.

I had no idea that was a real shop. I use their website as a reference all the time. This is one of my all time favorite webpages:

I've had the opposite experience here in CT. Hit up a shop a couple towns over for my first intro to hydro stores. Walked in and was greeted by an angry double of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I had several questions on a hydro set up. I must of interupted lunch or an in depth conversation with his lifting buddy. This guy had the most monotone demeanor I've ever dealt with. It was like talking to a drone. He was turning me away from products that I researched and knew to be effective. It was weird because he was literally turning away buisiness. I should of known by the size of the shop. It had one aisle you could barely fit through in about 300 square feet. Ended up taking a buisiness card and bolted without buying anything. Haven't given up though, there are a couple more that are a little further out. That's ok though as I won't be returning to my local hydro shop....

in some places your forced to go to the hydro store for the most basic essentials, like your telling me home depot or lowes dosn't carry PH up and down wtf???

i guess if your ok with just using miracle grow, and baking soda/vinegar for PH, then your fine. even the nurseries are the same shit as lowes home depot? its like they go out of ther way not to help your or carry stuff to grow indoors

They are fantastic! I can't tell you which one I goto because I don't want to give away my location but I've never had better customer service from ANY store in my life.
Word. Never break rule number one. Never. Not even if you are anonymous.

But on a similar note my local shop is perfect too. Owner runs it with his wife, how lucky right?

Yeah, the Hydro store by me is great! I went in to pick up a few things and ask some advice. In the course of our chat I mentioned I had been over zealous in my online buying and had stuff I couldn't use. So, they guy says of the stuff is new and unopenned, I can bring it to them for store credit. Sure beats having to pay return shipping fees!
