Hydro Nutrient Recipes?

Anyone on here make their own hydro nutes from salts?

I saw fatman 7574's post, and it looked good aside from the lack of Phosphorus in the bloom recirculating mix. I'd like to get some other opinions on this before I decide to experiment and fuck things up.

Why didn't I pay more attention in Ochem and Biochem???!!

The book 'Marijuana New School Indoor Cultivation' by Jeff Mowta has some recipes to make your own nutes. I'm not sure, but I think 'Beginning Hydroponics' by Richard Nicholls also has some recipes.

What up dawgs. So.... After fucking up 2 batches of plants, I've formulated a recipe for veg nutrients that works!
It's similar to the makeup of Fox Farms Grow big hydro nutrients.

Analysis: % by weight. N

4 K2O
4 Mg
0.5 Mn
0.05 Zn
0.05 Ca
1 Fe
0.1 Cu
0.05 Mo
0.001 B 0.02

Compound Amount (g) VEG A KNO3 86 Ca(NO3)2 405.5 FeDTPA11% 9.9 VEG B MgSO4 50.7 ZnSO4 2.2 MnSO4 1.54 CuSO4 0.04 H3BO3 1.14 Na2MoO4 0.024

Dissolve chemicals in hot water. Then add one at a time to 3 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket.

I know going to thousandths of a gram can be tricky, especially if you dont have access to a precision scale.
Do your best. You can dissolve a larger amount into solution, then do the math and only add a fraction of solution.
On the micros, I would recommend that its better to go under than over.

And I think the math might be off for calcium, I'm not sure. Someone can check that stoichiometry.

I use low calcium levels because i have sort of hard tapwater.

So there you have it, if anyone wants to stop buying veg nutes and make their own, it IS cheaper.
Took me about 3 to 5 batches of nutrients to finally get it right, but this one WILL work.
DO NOT take shortcuts in mixing it.

MIX IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA.
Some of this stuff is not good for you. I would recommend using a respirator if one is available. If not, just try to make larger volumes at a time and dont huff the fumes....

yes i grow with this type of ferts. components i use are: calcium nitrate, potassium nitrate, mono-potassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate(epsom salt) and trace element mix. i got em in bulk 25Kg bags and 2kg's for trace elements. thats a lifetime supply. lol i also have phosphoric acid as ph down and 35% H2O2 bulk of 30L i could get much more components like magnesium nitrate and triple super phosphate etc..etc... but the ones i got suffice i can play around to make hydro formulas
