Hydro nutes??????????????

I just started using a Aeroponic cloning system, after getting my water temps correct it was a HUGE success (100%). Now my wife is urging me to venture away from soil all together and start hydroponics. My question is about the nutes. I have all the FF nutes for soil. Now the soil nutes and the hydro nutes are all the same except for the Grow Big it says for soil. Can I still use the soil Grow Big for hydro?

I used it for a year it works fine. With that said last year I was all hydro, everthing outside built all sorts of stuff for veggies, had my other units inside. One day I realized that soil is so much eaiser, no cleaning the tanks all that changing of the water etc. As far as product goes I better yeild without a doubt but both were knock out. I just added two more plants to soil grow and now have the same yield and not mess.

You should ask rollie for a name change . After harvest I don't believe soil is easier and less messy

It depends on what type of hydro and the products you are trying to use. Generally most soil or organic mixes are not pure enough to run through pumps and tubes or foam in a cycling system. If your hand watering onto slabs of rockwool the use of all types of nutes should be O.K.

If you still want to use something like a soil product, pro mix or something like it is considered to be hydro or a mix of the two. I use rockwool slabs now and will never get dirty again playing in the dirt.

I'd have to agree with you, I hate getting dirt all over me on outside runs. Only thing with hydro is I worry about flooding my house while I'm at work

My plans were to start out trying DWC with a cheap 10 gal rubbermaid, 2 net pots, hydroton and a couple air stones.

Get a pond liner and put it on the floor, frame with 2x4's around the room. All my spaces have those, as a peace of mind thing. Its worth the money, much cheaper than mold, new insulation, drywall, and all that bs. You can get them at any home depot or even speciality pond stores.

Fox Farms has two different Grow Big formulas, one for soil and one for hydro. I really don't think it would hurt to use the soil formula in hydro. One thing I have heard is if you want to use the Big Bloom in hydro in needs to be filtered first due to having earth worm castings and other organic matter in it. I used Fox Farms in DWC for one grow but wasn't real impressed with the results, now I just use it on my mother plants which I keep in soil.My advice is you should go hydro and just switch to General Hydroponics Flora 3 part, they're good cheap nutes.

i've used botanicare pure blend pro in dwc (jack's garden from homegrown hydroponics). the plants absolutely loved it! using soilless, and feeding with a nute solution is hydroponics...and you don't have to worry about pH drift.

pbp is hydro-organic...so it's designed for hydro. find your product on fox farm's website, and check their recommendations. hth
