"Hydro grow leds" ?

Hi everyone :leaf:

I'm quite new to the entire growing scene and the past week has been incredibly interesting for me, looking up tons of information on growing, general biology & chemistry, etc.

That being said, I'd like to make a setup of my own(after watching juicy plants growing who wouldnt?) The problem I have is that I really need to watch the energy I'm using since I live in a building where the landlord could get suspicious if my bill would suddenly increase by 500/hour.

So I've been looking a LOT into led technology and so far I must say I've been impressed the most with http://www.hydrogrowled.com
more info -> http://www.hydrogrowled.com//Product-Development-History-C34.aspx
I've been tracking the guy's activity a bit and it seems he has some grow logs here:

Apparently he's been sponsoring some grow-offs against other types of light but I haven't found anything about that yet.

Now I'm wondering, are these for real? Does anyone on this board have experience with them or know about a place where they do? I'm trying to look for reviews but the name makes it a bitch to google. I just wanna be a healthy skeptic and look at multiple independent grows to make sure this isn't the 1000th crappy chinese ledpanel I come across. Spending 500 bucks on this needs to happen with 100% certainity! I'm keeping my fingers crossed tbh, it looks promising in my eyes. The specs & facts etc. seem consistent with independent information I've come across myself but honestly the site just looks way too crappy to gain my trust.

So yeah if anyone has any info on this or just general advice for someone who wants to get started, it's all very welcome. cheers! :eyesmoke:

PS: also, wtf? the name is almost the same but the panels are different, this makes me more suspicious about the whole thing: http://growledhydro.com

yeah, those are LEDGIRL's lights. I think its a fairly OK product, maybe not the best, maybe a bit in high price, and maybe giving higher expectations than they really produce, but probably better than 85% of the LED's out there.

So what are the best LED's out there? Cause i'm into LED's and I'm thinking about buying another one. But I'm kinda curious to match my current one against another brand of LED

You need several panels to successfully use them. I've seen posts of led grows on this forum, and they always had a couple panels on top and side panels.
