Hydro DWC PPM Question

It's still a positive increase and means they were taking more water. Just set it at 550it next time you start a res and just watch it. Don't add anything unless it changes by more than 50-75.
I thought if my ppm went from 550 to 680 means the plant is taking TO MANY NUTES ??

In about 3 days the plant usually drinks about 1.75g. You think I should add tap water that's ph'd to 6.0 for like a flush and or to lessen the nute strength ??

yes but ph'd to 5.8 sounds better. if your ppms are going up they are drinking more water than nutrients. this can be caused by letting your ph get out of range(anything outside of 5.2-6.2). if you've been maintaining a proper ph range and ppms are climbing just add ph'd water throughout the week and next changeout try starting 50ppm less.

Update :

Ok last night set the nutes a litte high around 775ppm (usually set to 550) and set the ph to 4.0 so it would rise like it has always done to 6.2 range. Tonight I checked ppm and was at 785 and ph is now in the 5.5 range... Could me putting in more nutes and rising the PPM result in the ph being now in the 5.5 range instead of 6.2 range ?????

Another question:

How could you tell the exact ph level a strain likes?? Can you tell by how much it is drinking.... My grow is going excellent so far and my plant is drinking more than the other 2 plants. If my plant does drink as much this res change could that tell you the nutes or something else was wrong ???

Take 7.0 tap water and add half of recommended nutes, measure ph. Now do same with full strength, you will find that the Ph will drop with more nutes. I haven't found strains to be Ph specific but stages of growth are. Veg like lower, 5.6. Late flower likes higher, 6.0-6.2. In between likes in between, 5.8.

are you saying your normal routine is to start at 4.0 and ph rises to 6.2 overnight, and this time you started 4.0 and it went to 5.5? im surprised your plants are cool with 4.0 ph. going from 550 to 775 is a pretty liberal bump in nutrient strength all at once. increasing food by 10% each change out during flower is a little safer. at least until wk 6 or so then 10% declines. i have never really considered trying to dial a specific ph for a specific strain, i have fallen into a veg swing from 5.5 to 6.2 and flower 5.9 to 5.4.

Started seeing yellow on tips of plants, don't think it was there before or as much.... Is this mean to much nutes ????

Actually there is no way around me not dropping the ph to 4.5 range or so. If I put ph to 5.8 range with new res change it will be 7.0 the next day, pick your poison with a small 4 gallon res.

Update:

Ok last new res I had ppm set at 775-800. I removed that same water and ppm meter said 115x10 so Im guessing that means 1150, which means it is taking to much water so I should set ppms closer to 600-650 this new res change correct ???? Also rez has usually 1.25 gallons left and this time it had not even .5 gallons, so is this evidence of plant taking more water ?? explain please.
