Humidity

I have a 4x4 tent with 4 pots, I have a heater with thermostat, humidifier, exhaust fan, and a cheap thermometer/hygrometer from Walmart, my thermometer/hygrometer reads 55% humidity, and my humidifier reads 81% relative humidity which is going to be more accurate? Outside humidity is 84% Temperature is a good 68-77 degrees. Just put my germinated seedlings in the pots they will remain in.

As Lou mentioned, test your hygrometer. Definitely give it at least 24 hours to settle. I put mine in a gladware container when I tested them. I then went through and put a piece of tape on each one telling me how much it was off. I need to multiply the reading by 1.07 or 1.087 on all my little cheap hygrometers.

Govee sells some thermometer/hygrometers that are Bluetooth and can be adjusted in the app. They also read in the app in pretty close to real.time.

Yeah but I have a discrepancy of nearly 30%, could the difference be that my humidifier measures relative humidity and the device measures humidity, I'm not really sure of the difference.

Depends where theyre at too, it could be 45 rh say, near the pots but 35 in canopy area. Caliber hygrometers are pretty accurate, I wouldnt use anything less reputable. My dehuey outside of tent can say 35 but hygro meter in other side of room read 45, so placement.

Seems to equalize when using fans so I place one or two more than average grower. Large fan in lung room outside the tent. Its nice to have a hygrometer that reports the highs and lows, its most optimal with a 5% drift up or down. Or so I heard. Im a newbie grower too.

LOL DOn't know what happened with the font but yeah those are the gauges that lots of growers use and they are handy because you can see the highs and lows each day and adjust your space accordingly.
