Humboldt Seeds

Greetings folks, I am thinking about spending some cash on Humboldt seeds, but I have never grown any. Has anybody out there grown any, and if so, how are the plants? I have Dr. Greenthumbs EmDog, Green Crack and Amherst Sour Diesel in my cart at Attitude, plus they are giving a free fem seed from almost their whole line, so it sounds like a great deal, but at $180 I would rather know now than later if they are worth it. Any advice is appreciated. Peace

you should go with tude. you get variety and a good deal. I have worked with them for a while and you don't have to worry about anything. Just remember to get guarentee shipping and for double insurance get a crush proof tin. always helps to have them

he's at the attitude m8... i think you got a bit confused though op, as the tude doesn't carry dr greenthumbs seeds..

as to hso, never grown them myself, but lots of people here have and seem to be getting pretty good results from all i've seen..

Hey Dudes if the OP is interested I got a lil diary going on with the EmDog's. I'm pretty impressed with them tbh, it's my first Chem x Kush so i have nothing to base my opinion on other than they looked good with good growth and flowers looks lovely. 2 distinct pheno's 1 chemy bushy and pheno 2 more kush like growth with crystal covered nugs.

It's a rough journal though yeah hehe

I have some mixed feelings about this company. On the one hand their business practices disgust me, on the other their beans produce a lot of good plants.

They came out with a bunch of strains with the names of famous clone only varieties and then refused to talk about their parent stock and seed making methods citing security reasons. I was just asking for confirmation of my guess that they are S1s and wondering what method was used to reserve the pollen donor plants. Every other breeder I've dealt with has been happy to talk about how they found their parent stock.

I've watched a lot of their Blue Dreams because I grow the clone and was interested in making S1s with her. The sativa looking pheno that resembles the clone only seems to only be about 1/4-1/3 of the plants. Supposedly the pheno that resembles the clone the most is the smallest yielding pheno but still is a very heavy yielder. All are supposed to be very potent smoke. I've seen pretty positive results from them. I'll still never run their gear.

I'm currently growing their Lost Coast OG and it's a great plant. I'm 48 days into 12/12, and no complaints so far. Grows a little taller than average, has a high bud to leaf ratio, and the buds are covered in crystals. Smells a good split between fruity and kush. Yield looks to be above average and the buds are dense. Here's a pic, not sure why it's importing all of my photos rotated...anyone know whats up with that?

Ordered a pack of emdog this morning. I will be pleasantly surprised if they are fire. When I started getting high, Cyprus Hill was the shit.
That's the only reason I bought a pack. lmao. We will see.

I finished out their Pineapple Skunk and OG Kush in supersoil outdo.PS was superior. Both would kick ass indoors tho. I got the seeds as freebies and wasn't expecting much. I have also seen the blue dream and it is impressive. Despite the doobious fact that they are in UK and not Humbldt, I was surprised and impressed they have a solid line of potent genetics with good structure that are easy to grow. And they changed the "s" in their name to a "z." So now they are really American. :-)
Bottom line...they are selfing legit genetics (some of them being clone-only strains) that they have paid good pounds..er..dollars for. cheers

Lets see if I can get these photos to upload right side up. This is my Humboldt Lost Coast OG. Some of the pics are from day ~63, and the one with the yellowed leaves is at day 70, right before I harvested her. Really pretty plant, with a lot of side branching, and leaves that were caked in crystals. Buds were extremely dense, and the calyx to leaf ratio made for easy trimming. I had to tie up all the side branches late in flower. Very lemony smell. Haven't really smoke her yet, since she's still curing, but will give a full smoke report in a week or two. This was an easy plant to grow, not overly sensitive to nutes, no real surprises (that's a good thing).

I have been completely surprised by this company. Their shit is legit! Every plant I have grown has turned out great. I have seen 3 different Blue Dream plants that were grown from seed and all turned out bomb. I don't really care about clone-only strains because I can't get them in Kentucky. I have to get my own genetics, and there shit has blown me away. I have an Emdog and Pineapple Skunk growing in flower right now and they both look good to me. They both smell great too. The Emdog has a chemmy smell to her that is kind of similar to an OG fuelly smell but not quite. Lol! It has a citrus undertone to her too. The Pineapple Skunk isn't a super strong smelling strain, but she does smell good. She has this creamy rotten fruit smell to her. It doesn't remind me of pineapple at all but it is nice imo. I'm on Day 43 of 12/12, so I don't have much longer until she is finished up by the looks of them. I would say around Day 60 they will be finished. Anyways I know HSO has some messed up descriptions about their strains and are kind of ripping off the clone-only's, but from my experiences they have been one of the best breeder's that I have encountered. I have been growing for close to 3 years now with genetics bought online, so I have tried a bunch of different breeder's too. Their prices are fairly reasonable too. I guess I am going to invest in a few more of their strains and give them a whirl and see what's what.
