I've been burying wood in the yard for years. Now I know what it is called. Awesome. I might have to go big next time I get some palm wood - I've found that decomposes much faster than any true wood.

Isn't it fun when someone names something we've been doin all along?

i'm doing large hugelkultur terraces for veggies and permaculture and i want to try it out in a couple of my pot holes, but i'm worried that it might be too moist and get root rot. any thoughts?
