Ok, this thread is really for those who aren't following our grow log. We started off real shaky and 'noob' like, but there really is only one way to start your first grow.

Over the last 4 weeks, we have done a lot of changes with our grow in general, from starting with CFLs and now 400w MH / HPS, our grow system has gone from a fail Ebb and Flow to a successful DWC system.

I really wanted to post up some pictures here for you all to check them out and if you like what you see, there is still time to sub to our grow log as we will still be at this for a while.

Hope you like, again, see where we came from, check out our grow log thats in our signature. Comments are much appreciated!

---------------► OUR GROW LOG ◄---------------
Updating our grow log as I finish typing this, PLEASE check it out if interested in our progress, its been quite the journey, but loving 90% of it.

THANKS!!

Some of those pics, the plants look really stretched. But other than that, really nice clean roots, and good green leaves. I like my DWC set up, starting to try and think of a way to make changing the nute water easier on mine, like a tap/drain system on the bottom, not really 100% as of yet, as its still on the planning table while I have current grow in progress

Just a pointer, we cut holes in the top lid , 1 and 1/2 inch wide so we can test the ph and anything else right through the hole instead of taking the top off every time and stressing the plant.

Thanks for your input.

do you plug the hole, as a 1" hole seems to be enough gap to let light in to increase your chances of algae growth. I just do readings when I take plant off the bucket to change the nutes once a week, or will take a reading if there is any change in the look of the plants health (i.e. - Leaf yellowing, excessive leaf curling, etc). Also a hole in the top would not work well on my set up as I keep the nute water get rather low on mature plants to allow upper 1/3 of the nutes to be exposed to the oxygen created from the bubbles/air pump. So reaching the water with a meter would be a little difficult. I am doing a water change this Friday and will take some Root Porn photos of my girls and post them here.

I am just very over protective in the fight against algae and the hole at the top just seems to be a concern for letting light in

Yup, but like I said, a little black tarp cutting blacks it out on ours, works fine.
