i was wondering if anyone knows if htg supplys ballast are good quality and if they are noisy. i was lookin to get a 250 hps/mh system. also i was wondering if an electronic ballast would be better. i was also lookin at this system. To me it looks better quality. any help would be great, thank u much!

also here is the tag to the other light system thanks.

I have two of their 400w magnetic ballast systems and they have gone strong for me for over 1 year now. No too loud or hot.

I am pleased with their product and it's the cheap HTG version. FDD is 100% correct about their replacement policy. They totally honor all their products. I had a bottle of AN's overdrive leak enough to make the dosage unreadable. All I asked them for was the dosage...Tony said no worries Boneman, we'll send you a new bottle. I told him that there was only a drip or two that leaked and I just couldnt read the dosage...again "Boneman", you get a new bottle.

Cant argue with that?

Anything you find on ebay IS from HTGsupply. And maybe a 600w is too big for his setup.

HTG is great, their service is great, and my 150w HPS hasn't encountered any problems for a the few months ive owned it. The digital ballasts are good because they reduve energy costs. The magnetics ones arent loud at all.

i have read many but i will share my own.

last month i ordered a "carbon reamer". it's used to round holes while blowing glass. when the reamer arrived the tip was broken. i took pics of it and immediately emailed the company with pics of the damage. that evening i got a reply, "we have sent you a new reamer. thank you for the email and the pics." they asked that i send the broken one back and they credited my account for the shipping charges. my new reamer arrived a few days later. :bigjoint:

i bought a 250 watt MH ballast and bulb set-up from HTG. first thing i notice is half the screws holding it together are loose. i plug it in, it works for a few minutes then fails. then i try again, now the bulb just flickers. i go buy a new bulb at the hydro store. it works for 3 days then does the same thing. i emailed HTG the first time it happened and sent pics of the bulb. no response. i email HTG again. NO response. i emailed them at least 4 times and NEVER heard another word. i was told i HAVE to call him. BS, he took my money via email he can answer me via email. i am still waiting for a reply. it's been almost 2 years now. :finger:

right ok now i see why you say all ther shit breaks... i must just be lucky then.... i do see posts where ppl say the same as you but never had a problem myself and also have heard about the whole email vs. call senario i guess they lost you as a costomer and thats sucks to here of your problems i hate to see anyone having trouble maybe its just that 3 years ago ther shit was on point and now the langoliers are creepin up on em. i have not ordered a ballast from them since 3 years ago when i got the one i have now i have ordered exhaust and circulation fans and bulbs with no problems i guess there is somthing to be said about buying locally which is the direction im headed when i get my next ballast. ive never had a problem with htg but i guess they shit the bed since i last used em.. good luck with this seasons outdoor and thankyou for the response

it seems to be either A+ or a complete fail. there is no in between with them. the people that are happy just love the guy, like they'd blow him on the spot. the people that aren't happy seemed to flat out get screwed. it's like he just says "fuck this dude, but everyone else is cool".

noise wise, my 1000's are loud at startup but settle down to almost nothing, if they ran out of stock on something u ordered, they will upgrade you, they have replaced bulbs for me, only 2 failed out of 12 in a year now, and one ballast failed...this was the 1000w growbright, i think that one sucks, the agrostar is nice and pretty cool for a 1k it has a chimney on it, gotta remember these ballasts are all handmade by a guy named earl somewhere in west bumblefuck, the HTG 400 setup has been running nonstop for a year and no problems, i dunno i love these guys i have nothing but good to say about them but they cant make everyone happy

I've bought four 600w electronic set-ups from these guys in the last year. Had no problems with anything. I also got 2-6" can fans and a canmax 75 filter. Still no probs. I ordered four more 600's this morning. You can't beat their pricing or speedy delivery! I did have a three month old bulb go bad, they replaced it immediately. I have to say I'm real happy with these guys.

I agree. Everything I have seen with them is hit or miss. I havent had any bad experiences with them that werent resolved but it seems like you just gotta keep phoning till you get a hold of someone when they are in a good mood.

The things I have gotten from them work terrific. However, I have read some horror stories on here. Particularly about their digital ballasts failing. So... I probably wouldn't buy a digital ballast from them. The three t-5 flouro lights and 400w magnetic hps have been great though. So has customer service, but you have to call to get it.

BTW...LOL.... does anyone have a recommendation for a good brand & dealer of digital ballast? Thinking 600w hps (I want to use conversion mh bulbs too).

Lumatek digi's are probably the best, most reliable, and wont cause RF interference on your phone lines.

I'm running 2 600w fixtures - when I switch to 12/12 two years ago I discover the HPS lamp is damaged internally - they sent a new one no questions. Last week my other HPS hybrid lamp shit the bed & with no muss or fuss another one is on its way - two thumbs up here too
