HPS vs Fluorescent - Big Deal?

So I just built up a nice indoor grow box and now im working on getting the lights together and im having some troubles. I currently have:
3 150 watt CFLs (that are quite big but would work)

I just went to the store and found a few HPS lights but the cost was a bit high but nothing I cannot afford, however it's cheaper to go with the flourescents... So what im wondering is how much you really lose by going with flourescents as opposed to HPS or if the outcome will be generally the same??

HPS have depth penetration. Go with HPS.

HPS way better for flowering. if you want best yields. cfl bulbs can flower decently but not to what HPS dishes out.

Im going to get some of the HPS lights I guess, i was just hoping i could get away with using only home found products to save cash haha.
