hey guys im hanging up the cfl belt (kind of) and building a new cab.
It was going to a little bigger originally. but now its going in a diffrent closet so i need to cut it down a bit..
My question is. My cab is going to be 2x2x5.5 with a shelf at 20" painted white on the inside.

The bottom section in going to use a 150w cfl for veg

The top section i want to use a 400w hps with cooled hood. but now that its going to be a 2x2 and not a 3x3 like i originally wanted. would the 400 be to much? if so im going to get a 250w. but i really want the 400 Digital ballast

I also am getting a 6" Inline fan and filter. 474 cfm's so the heat from the 400 will be pulled out of the cab. Thanks guys . +rep to a knowledgeable answer

ur going to want that 400w, over the 250, but with the size of just the hood itself, & only 2 foot high space, that is going to give u NO room for the plants unless ur going to try a major lst on them...if I understood u correctly. U would run higher temps but they could be managed with ur intended set up.

well the cab is going to be 2x2x5.5 (width, length, height)
The flower section will be 2x2x3.5 so there will be 3.5 feet. the hood is 19" long x 16.5" wide x 6" tall
so it would clear the walls and give the plants 3 feet to grow. i wont veg any taller then a foot tall anyway

well sounds like u got a plan, I would lst in that space anyway just to be on the safe side, unless u have already grown the strain before u plan to grow. that double, triple stretch is only a guide. a 12 inch plant could very well grow to 4 foot when all is said & done, maybe not the normal average but surely possible.

Well looks like the 400 would be better/250 would be fine too, but you can run the 400 as long as you can manage the heat! 400 will run a bit hotter than the 250 in that space...but with that inline fan shouldn't have too much problems...i would do a dry run, put in the 400/cfl on bottom in the cab...all on and running to see the temp before , and after fan is running, and you will have an idea is its going to run too hot( testing the setup without plants to see!!!) just an idea...then you will know if you have to downsize the setup...or Not!!! Hopefully this helps buddy :)

the pots i got are pretty neat man, they got awesome drain holes in them, a catch pan, and holes on the top so you can tie plants down

You're going to need to do a SCROG... trust me.. with the height of pots + height of stretch you're not going to have any room to grow traditionally. The screen will let you train the plants to go no further

yeah man they were kinda pricey for just some pots...like 6 bucks each or something

yeah man, im def gonna make a trellis inside the cab so the buds have something to hold them up. and something else to tie down with if i need
