What's up got a couple questions....im getting things together for my first grow and have been doing alot of reading. I looked around and found a 600w hps light with the balast, reflector, and light timer.....I plan on doing between 3 to 2 different strains since this will be my 1st grow haven't picked the strains yet but im looking.....I want to know are running hps cheap I mean ik if I use cfls I won't get the best I can out of my plants but I don't want to end up paying for$800 light bill either I currently live in alabama I think lighy is cheap here anywhere from around 9-11 cents I think maybe 13.....I wanna know what would be the average yeild for my plants if under a 600w hps no more than 2 or 3 plants all different strains...and what could I expect my light bill to be...also if u could share some of ur experiences that would be great....oh n yhe whole grow will be indoor

I am half way through my first grow and i am running a 1k watt light. I used a 1k MH for veg and i am using a 1k hps for flower. My bill for the month of running the 1k MH went up just a little over $40. I have not gotten my bill yet for running the hps but what i have read the MH will cost more to run then the hps. A $800 light bill will happen if u are running multiple 1k lights not just one so you bill should not go up too much. During veg i ran 18/6 helps with saving power.

Just make sure your space is big enough during flower they will double or triple in size i thought my area would be plenty but i am running out of room now.


average yield it all depends on your setup, nutrients and so on.

My set up isn't going to be a problem the tent I plan on buying is going to be big enough and I'll be using 5gal to 7 gal buckets for the grow the only thing im still stuck on is soil and the right nutes I see alot of ppl make there own soil but I don't wanna over welm myself im just trying to find the righy organic soil and a good affordable line of nutes not to high

bill for 600w and accessories shouldn't be much greater, for me it is we pay 25c a kw/hr. Maybe one strain for first grow would make things easier. Good luck
