I hear of people using 100 and 150 hps lights alot, where the hell do you get smaller wattage lights like that, I'd really like to know!!!! may be easier to get than a 250 hps:wall:

I think the smaller hps lights are maybe outdoor security lights. You should be able to get a 250w no problem either online or your local grow store.

Be aware that a 150watt HPS will only sufficiently cover 2 square feet, with 16,000 lumens. That's like 2 plants, tops. If you want to do more plants then get more watts.

I've heard of many people having lots of success with the smaller lights, and its nice to hear. I grew 2 bubbleberry clones in a 2 foot by 3 foot cabinet with a 250 hps and the weed was amazing!!!! so you don't HAVE to have lots of wattage for top notch quality, but maybe for top yields as I only got about 3/4 of an ounce off of the 2 plants!!

lots of luck hope you get a good harvest, you should start a journal on the short riders, I've always been curious about auto-flowering strains, like how good the smoke is

Don't spend too much on security lights that small. They should be $45 or less for 250's and maybe $30 for 150's. If you are looking at home depot or lowes compare the prices on ebay and craigslist first. Often you can find used ballasts on ebay etc twice the size for way way cheaper than the stores small ones plus get a new bulb or two from 1000bulbs.com for the same price.

I like warehouse lights more than security lights if you have the grow space. 250w - 400w warehouse lights can be $25 used.
