hps lightbulb brands 400w

hi running a 400w hps and looking for a bulb to replace the original lumii one or at least to keep as spares im assuming bulbs could be quite important so any suggestions on best bulbs im not fussed about a few more pounds just spotted brands ranging from 12 to £25 and wondering if theres much difference

When I started growing, I went cheap on bulbs and used $20 bulbs... And I couldn't figure out why my bud looked.. Underwhelming.

Got told to buy a "real" bulb, a hortilux. I did and it made a HUGE difference.

I grow with nothing other than hortilux now. They are more expensive but it's totally worth it. A 400w will run you about $50 on Amazon.

thanx man swurprised me it took so long for someone to pop up on this im off to ebay a hortilux :D did assume there would be differences is it colour temps that vary or lumens ??

Honestly, lumens don't matter as much because it's not what plants use. Color temperature is important though.

And FYI, I actually just bought 2 agromax bulbs off htg supply last night. I've never used them, but I've heard they are pretty close to hortilux in terms of quality. They are selling a couple 400 watt bulbs on there for 70% off, there is a promo code you have to type in but it's on their website. Good luck man
