Why are the 1000 watt hps less exzpensive than the 600 watt? is the 1000 watt worse?

are you asking about bulbs, ballasts or what? shop around, i think you see the prices fluctuate quite a bit depending. I believe if you compare the same brands (apples to apples) you'll find the 1000w slightly more than a 600w most of the time.

As for being better or worse? It depends on how you are using it but a 1000w throws more light so in that sense, it is better.

i ended up buying a 400 watt hps... its for a 4'x3' space im covering the walls with mylar too. so you think ill be alright?

a 400w sounds great for that space. i have a 1000w of lights and during the summer can have some temp issues.

i will also add that i am gunna stuff 12 plants into that space lol. i have 7 plants growiong now, but 5 seeds on the way... after sexing im sure it'll slim down.
