hps died... enter CFL's

Well my 250w hps died 3 weeks into flowering my current garden. Panicked and broke,
I ran out and got 2 clamp lamps (largest reflectors they had) and a couple of 65w 2700k
CFL bulbs. Going to throw in another 67w CFL very soon. Anyway, I've had to severely
train my plants as unchecked, they were over 3 feet tall and impossible to contain. Btw, the strain
is Speed Haze (ssh x j. herer) and grows true to its' Sativa roots. I will never grow this strain indoors again,
as it is a full time job just to keep her lanky ass trained. Anyway, here they are, with my lone Mk-Ultra which is
about 25 days in. Hope to still get a decent harvest... sigh:|

So now I have 3 65w CFL's with Large reflectors (Clamp-Lamp) shining on the 6 plants. Things are definitely starting to get stinky and fuzzy from all the buds forming. I'll post recent photos in a while. Peace- :peace:

Imo you need more light for 6 plants maybe a couple 55watt bulbs cfls become less useful after about 4" so they dont cover a lot of area and have poor penetration light placement can make or break you as well

Yeah, I'm having to work with the equipment at hand right now. I added some reflective material and another clamp-lamp on the side. Hopefully they will finish out okay and then i can look into getting a better lamp. The good thing is, when these lamps burn out, they are easy to replace, as compared to buying a new hps/mh set-up. Here they are a couple days ago, with first signs of trichomes ;-)

If its the old style magnetic ballast, then it's most likely just the igniter gone bad. Lowe's and home depot have them for about 10 bucks.

DSCN0549.JPG Here's some of the garden. After some trial and error, I got the 3 lamps in their best position to illuminate my crop. Bent them over and trained their lanky asses to behave. The 2 Tallest Speed Haze girls smell like sweet citrus when rubbed ;-) They've been flowering roughly 27 days so still a while to go. I can't get them all in a pic, but the whole canopy is filling with fuzzy bud-factories which started showing first signs of trichomes yesterday><

Yeah, a replacement hid is what I need. Think i'll get a MH this time, but I'm broke as fuck so it's not gonna happen anytime soon. I have 1 more cfl I could possibly throw in somewhere...
