Hps cooltube CFM inline fan question

Ok so i have a 31"x18"x26" stealth cab. Im buying a lumatek 250w dimmable super lumen ballast, 6" cool tube with added reflector wings, and a hortilux 250w super lumen hps bulb. I need to obviously buy a inline fan to get all that heat out, i have a 13"x19"x8" utility area cut and sealed off from the rest of the cab. I hope i can run the inline fan into that area and have the fan inside to save the space in the main cab.
My main issue is i can't figure out how much cfm ill need to keep the cool tube cool to touch.. The catch is i may dim the ballast to 150 or even 175, isn't that going to create an issue if i buy a fan to cool 250w and run the ballast at 150w? Maybe the fan ending up being to strong?? Idk if thats a stupid question or not..
If some one wants to put me to a example on how to calculate it, that would be awesome!

400 cfm??? highly doubt that unless you want more inefficiency...a 4" will do with a speed control as mentioned.

Yeah I was hoping that was a bit much.. But cool thanks, so around 175-200 cfm is what I've been thinking plus ill have a few PC fans for exhaust an intake to keep fresh air in there.

ya 4" would probably doo but im always about over sizing when it comes to fans and exhaust that's the point of the speed controller. to make sure you have enough but also have the option to slow it down if you want

I have cooled a 400 watt light in a tube with a 4 inch fan before. Grab a little one and you will be fine. Especially if you are running a separate intake and exhaust.

How do you plan on fitting a cooltube in your cab? Just curious because mine was 26"(well I had a dual-bulb too, that was much longer).

I have a 4" vortex, I love it. Got it to cool a 600w tent(worked great) but am now using it as my intake for my veg room. Most grow stores carry them

Excellent quality. Worth the coin. Just get the speed controller as previously mentioned and adjust the speed as needed. I use my speed controller at the lowest setting sometimes, no ill-effects yet.

As I mentioned in your other thread though, wouldn't go with hps in your situation. CFL may produce airier smoke but it will still be bomb and you will learn everything you would with an HPS.

Just my opinion. Good luck with what ever you decide

I found a 6"x17" cool tube :bigjoint:
I typed in vortex inline duct fan on ebay, something hurricane came up.. Thanks for the link! Everyone keeps saying stay with cfls, I just feel like I want real dank, instead of "okay" bud.. If I gotta choose the harder route, then so be it. :-P
And if I hadn't bought a ballast already, I probably would have went with cfls.. Lol
