Man a few years ago... I was using foil for walls, a 100w desk light, watering daily, oh and I planted in a coffee can... all the time wondering "what am I doing wrong"
How to water plants? (Yes I'm actually asking this...)

My first grow ever I'm talking 10 years ago consisted of tin foil a cardboard box two lamp cords cut and mended back together with tape but atleast they were cfl a 1 gallon pot mg fertilizer the ole pc fan wired to a cell charger and man it was some real fire after a month of veg so fire half my closet burned up oh ya and my soil was from my yard all in all tho the plant was pretty healthy small but bushy

My first attempt to grow was back in 2001, I've learned much since then and hopefully I can pass some of it along to the younger generation of growers.

That's per gallon. You might need three gallons to water good. Mix at that rate per gallon and water each plant until run off to prevent salt build up. You will know how many gallons after a couple times. It can be hard to water air pots until run off.

I kinda miss the days when you never had a harvest its like a being a young child and seeing the world for the first time now it's routine but still fun hope I can openly pass down the trade to my kids sometime soon...

I was raised helping in the vegetable garden. I do the same with my kids. They will know how to grow food. If and when the time comes I will show them about cannabis.
I will however tell them the truth about cannabis not the lies that ate told about it.
I remember the first pot seeds in dirt. It was in a coffee con to. Lol.
I knew we put manure in the garden twice a year. I didn't know it had to be composted and not to use dog crap. So I put my seeds in the dirt and put dog crap on top of them.

I am not sure if it has been asked or said yet, but Is it better to give you plants: warm, cold, room temp (tap water)
A) If I am using warmer water it would have all the minerals sitting in the water tank. (i'm not sure if thats ok or not)
B) If I am using cold, then it shocks my plants.
C) If I am wanting room temp from the tap, then I need a mix of hot and cold on. (easiest method)
D) OR use hot water (or cold) and let it sit until it reaches room temp.

The problem with D is that you would need a large bucket of water to sit for a while. If you run out of water while your watering, then you'll have to wait for it to reach room temp again.
C) I hope plants can handle warm and cold water mixed to room temperature; because I don't have a big bucket and this is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest method for me. But I don't know if plants can handle to warm water because of all the excess minerals.

If you using tap d cold water let sit over night to leach out chemicals and by then it should be room temp

That may have been one of the best things I've ever read. All I see in YouTube videos are just people dumping solo cups on plants.
My favorite part was:

I'm happy it was a good read for you. She lays it down so simply. I found that in my beginning searches. I was so confused about, what seemed to me, should have been the simplest task in growing. I learned much more than I expected.

As for watering I get it, pot lifting ext. my thought is my pots are huge. Way to big for the plants in them. But I'm now stuck, but what about the nutrients. I'm actually dumping in a lot more nutrients then I would if the pots were sized properly right? Ratio is correct but dumping 3 gallons worth of nuted water compared to 1 gallon of nuted water is inevitably putting in way more. Smaller pots also need watering more and straight water would delute the nuts in a smaller version.

The plant on the left is a good example of what hes talking about. Starting to droop. Just got done watering in the picture and the plant stood right back up within a half hour.
