How to use the microscope?

Ok, I got a Radio Shack $12 microscope. If I press the bud up against the opening in the bottom and view it that way, I get resin on the bottom of the scope.

Is this OK, and not damaging the bud? How do you do it? Cutting a small piece off perhaps? Cutting anything seems more harmful than pressing up against the bud.

First, you need to pull the guard off the bottom. That makes it much easier to use.

Second, you have to keep in mind that everything that you are seeing is in reverse. So if you move the scope left, the field of view is going to move right, ect...

You also need to sit and rest your elbow on your knee so the scope is as steady as possible.

And of course you need to be using the 60x setting.

Using this scope takes some getting used to.

I stopped using mine when I found that using a 30x jewelers loupe is much easier.

I recommend getting one, it will strain your eyes a lot less..

tweezers!! reach in and pull a small clump from your bud put it on a table and then you can get a real nice view of it. plus it gets you out of your hid lighting which makes it look more cloudy than it is. also saves the scope from all that sticky crap on it. plus your buds will thank you for not rubbing that scope all over them lol.
