You cannot dissolve eggshells. The best way to use them (afaik) is to crush them as finely as practical, then mix into your soil before planting.

I don't know of a way to use eggshells for hydro. Ime pH needs to be corrected down even without them. cn

I'd stick with hydro-ready preps then, since I see soilless as a variant on hydro. Cal-mag is good, and gypsum can be dissolved to make a neutral calcium feed. cn

Any garden store should stock gypsum as a powder.
Cal-mag for human consumption is the carbonates, aka dolomite lime. That's again available in bulk ... at garden stores, but as an insoluble mineral it is again only good for soil.
If you cannot get cal-mag, what nutrients are you using?? cn

im using a locally made organic one with micro nutes
but i wanna have calmag for future use if needed specifically
i havent seen gypsum in every garden store ive been even in True Value even dolomite lime if they had they sell in bulk like 50kg-1ton minimum[ive tried to buy some retail but they wont sell damnit]
btw im an asian in a 3rd world country. farmers here use crap chemical ferts thats waaay off charts to use for mj, crap everything, organic sources here are hard to find even if our main source of income is agriculture. if there are its too damn expensive like the pre made additives ive found and they sell it for like $15/2kg well, except for uncomposted chicken/farm shit, bat guano[that isnt real bat guano], worm castings[im working on it, pre made ones they add chemical additives], charcoal, burnt rice hulls. literally all stuff here they sell/know about are in "general" like if its "fertilizer" its good for all plants lol

i envy you guys!

This is worth a try. Take 5-6 egg shells and wash them with tap water. Let them dry. The use a blinder and turn them into powder (the finer the better) take the powder and use 2 tsp per gallon. Let sit for 2-3 days before use. Shake it up a few times a day or use a fish air pump. This will raise your PH so keep a close eye on it. But it shouldn't go up more then 1.0.

you can get gypsum dust from drywall wall boards. they are almost 100% gypsum.

any construction site will have plenty of tag ends, your local builders merchant will likely have the boards, and a pocket vacuum can suck up the dust from where they are stored with no problem.

dietary calcium pills are usually powdered oyster shells. they need fairly strong acids (like in your stomach) to break down for use just like eggshells.

Gypsum. buy the shit or scavenge it from wallboard homey.
