My cistern is already sealed just never drained so i will show how to drain and seal since i will reseal it anyways. as for grow room setup I'm not an expert at that all i have is construction background I will show you how to make it a secret room! grow setup is up to you i will be using led's but thats just me this is my first grow. here are pics of what it looks like to start with. Pure nastyness and in a couple weeks will be nice 10x10 8ft tall pure white room with secret door.SAM_0163.jpgSAM_0164.jpg

Sorry guys due to work and time restraints today i will be pumping it tommorow stay posted this project will take a week or two but the end result may shock you! The door in the basement is actually going to look like a regular fridge even when you open it but the back will slide out revealing the room. I will post pics and tutorial on how to do that also

Ok guys finally had time to drain the beast! well sorta its gonna take a couple hours. I actually got my sump pump to fire up will take pictures and tell you how to use it so it actually empties the cistern instead of keep it at a high level. If you are going to use a pump from the top like i was going to have to do. make sure the pvc from the pump doesnt go all the way to the bottom you will clog your pump as you will see tommorow there is going to be alot of soot at the bottom of the cistern. Quick tip if you are pumping it yourself from the top make sure to have it draining on a different side of the house as the cistern, last place you want it is back in there if it isn't sealed off yet. Pictures of pumping coming in a minute! BTW don't be alarmed tommorow when you see the nastyness in there tommorow when it's drained. just think of a pool thats had no filteration and water sitting in it for 20 years. A little elbow greese the proper use of chemicals and sealing and paint you will have a nice shiny new white room! stay tuned

Cistern Pump 2.jpgcistern pump.jpg notice the wire i have placed around the float? better explanation look at the back of your toilet and the float is the part that raises when the water rises and eventually shuts it off before it get to full. cistern pumps work the opposite when the water rises it engages the pump so if you want to pump all the water out of your cistern. tie something around the float to hold it up and the pump will keep running until there is no water. keep an eye on it when it runs out go shut it off dont wanna burn out your pump they are spendy! any questions feel free to ask hope this tutorial is helping so far!

I dont remember what forum I was on before but there was a guy that found a hidden door behind a wall in his basement. He videotaped the opening of it and going inside, etc. It was pretty cool but it just turned out to be an already empty cistern with no cool shit or treasures inside!

No it had already been turned into a room by someone probably 50 years ago, it had the shape and everything. Then he went outside since he knew where to look and found the lid to it buried near the surface.
