Right basicly i have been reading this forum loads and im currently growing ata tundra and thai they are sprouts atm.

but when they get into flower i am looking to top them to get mximum yeild, all the info i cud find on this forum is pinching the top cola and snipping, this doesnt realy help me cos i have no idea what to pinch where to pinch how to snip ect.

so i was wondering if any of you guys have any good step by step info (cos im a noob:roll:) or perhaps a video that shows u how to do it?.

also is there any other different techniques of creating more bud sites on your plants?.:joint::joint:

thanks for reading and any help will be greatly welcomed.

also i just checked my sprouts they look nice and health, they sprouted about 3 days ago and are like 2 inches tall alredy, is this normal? i am growing each plant with 2 20watt cfls above them and 1 85watt big ass cfl inbetween the 2 plants, the light are about 1-2 inches away from the lil sproutys so it doesnt seem that they are streching but it sure looks like it. if som1 could post to reassure me or tell me where im going wrong then please do!.

again any help/suggstions/info will be appriciated

cheerrsssss

GROWFAQ

Hope that helps.
yeh i have read thru it and it gives god info about topping but i just wanted to see if anyone has there own teqniuqes or vidoes on how to do it, also i wanted to know how to creat more bud sites using different methods, and the grow faq has nothing about how tall sprouts shud be at which stage so i have no idea to compare them to see if they are strching or not.

but thanks for the input:mrgreen::peace:

sounds like stretchage, whats the light situation
ok i have a total of 5 cfls 4 20 watt and 1 85watt theres 2 20watt above one plant and the same with the other plant with the 85watt inbetween them, i had the light originaly 4-5 inches above the pots but have moved them closer (about 2 niches away) since i noticed how lanky the sprouts were getting, what can i do to stop/prevent this? shud i do anything or do u think i shud just let nature take its course. and when shud i expect the second set of leaves?.

thanks for your intrest and help in this thread.

yea i have 2 plants, and i have been planning on this cfl grow for quite a long time, i also plan to flower with cfls due to my financial situation and cos im a cheap skate, ive read loads of cfl grow journals and most of them ave done a fantastic job so this is what i plant to do

ive got plenty for this stage of growth, but i have re arranged the lights so they are all in a row and i have taken out my 85 watti will have to make new lighting arangments tommorow tho so i can make room for more cfls, i still cant work out why they have streched so much tho, perhaps cos the 20 watt cfls i have bought are the long tube semi circle ones, i think i should have gone with the spiral ones

by the time you done with all the bulbs and fixtures you could have probably easily afford a hid light i have seen 400w hps for as little as 150 and get much much better bud... i have never personally used flours but a friend is grown the same plant as me under flours mine under hps and they cant touch the hid grown plants.

I too will be growing only via flouros as my electricity is included in my very cheap rent and I don't want to mess that up with a sudden 400 watt surge, at the least. And like you I have seen enough successful flouro grows to know it can be done.

I have a suspicion that your issue may be with spectrum, as I am painfully learning on my first grow.

The sprout that I put under a 'cool' or 'bluish' light looks small, but not at all stretched, and it looks healthy.

The sprout that I put under my warm light has hardly grown and is still stretched.

I also put some babies under a 150w equivelent flouro with 2300 lumens.

Only one is still living, and it's stretched.

My cool flouro is less than 1000 lumens, and the plant under it is doing okay but all the rest are suffering.

Which reminds me... I was supposed to go to Lowe's today and pick up more cool lights.

hmm, yeh that probably explains it, all my bulbs are 2700k "Warm White". do u think my plants would eventualy adapt and grow? for atleast the next week? they look healthy they look like there developing string stems ect but they just look realy streched. i hope they recover and i have moved lights close as possible with out the leaves burning.
