What is the best way to start from seed? Then straight to HPA system in 3" net pots..........
I bought Buddha Tahoe OG beans from Cali Connect and I want to germinate today, just a bit scared considering I''ve only grown from clone
Any help would be much appreciated

couldn't you start in rockwool? not a hydro/aero guy so probably shouldn't even be responding but i'd imagine rockwool until you see roots and then into the netpot with your hydroton or whatever you're going to use. hydro fellers, help out adub!

Run your rockwool under the faucet for a minute or so, shake out the water, dont squeeze it, soak it in a ph'd 250 ppm nute mix for 30 minutes, shake out the excess, soak it in a new solution for a minute, give it a few shakes to rid the excess, make a little hole and plant the seed, use an exacto or something to pull some rockwool over the seed, cover and put in a warm place, takes a couple days to pop, uncover and put under cfls til you get roots out of the cube(bout 5-6 days with a 3x3, less for a smaller cube), put it in your system and let it fly. Thats how I do it, never failed me

Thanks Dr.J so far thats seems to be my best bet from the research I have gathered last few days, I just have heard they hold too much moisture sometimes. I have a heat mat and little dome tray but never used one for seed starting.

Ive done a few different ways. Wrapped them in a moist paper towel, Sprouted from soil, and started in rockwool. I prefer the rockwool method myself...

You would need to soak your rockwool in pH adjusted water for 24 hours. Then take it out of the water and give it 2-3 shakes to get excess water out. DO NOT SQUEEZE IT. From there, place your seed in the supplied hole. And place in a greenhouse/ dome type container and place in the dark for 5 days. I have never had a problem this way. Once they are sprouted through and about 1" of root is out of the bottom you are ready to rock!! Id recommend to have your humidity a little high for the first weed or so after transplanting to reduce shock... Someone please chime in if this last part is wrong (humidity)

As you can see, there are a plethora of ways to do this and achieve the same results. Happy Growing!!

Has anybody used those rapid rooter plugs? The GH ones? Results....I only mention because I have heard good things on them and they keep the moisture at a better, more controllable level.....

Yes they work fine, just don't shove the seed in too deep. They punch the holes deep for clones, seeds just need to be covered not buried deep

Good advice also if you are germinating in 1 ½" rockwool cubes. The factory holes are too deep for the seeds. You need to fill the hole most of the way with extra rw you've torn from the side of the cube, place the seed, then just cover it ⅛" with more moist rw. Keep it moist but not soggy, warm but not hot, and wait for the sprouts.

Check out my link below. I have done it all. The best way is a zip lock and a paper towel. I explain in the link. I wouldn't use jiffy anything at least until it's germinated.
