test the males guessing u mean dry up some flowers and burn a bowl see how he smokes ? This is totally new to me so sorry for the dumb question
lab testing males to find the strongest would be good for a breeder but I imagine it cost a lot of money

1 of the tahoe males has some visible trichs i figured if it makes trichs proly a decent plant to go with
I also had a CC Tahoe OG male with trichs! First time I ever saw trichs on a male...wouldn't have believed it until I saw it for myself...Do a lot of strains do this, or is this a rare trait?

Oh, yeah, also best way to select for a male is, like Hazey said, do test crosses and base your selection on the results. That takes time though...What I look for is vigorous growth, short internodes, thick stem, general health, and smell. If I ever come across a male with trichomes again, I would be sure to use that...

I had a nice male Qleaner last year with which I made a bunch of crosses. They are just starting to flower now, but they look rather promising...

you can smoke both male leaf and flowers. i'd imagine how much resin you'd find on males leaves would be comparable to whatever you find on female fan leaves or at least a percentage. i never really pay much attention to fan leaves anymore once buds start popping. if your OG male had more resin than you've seen in other males, that's be a good sign to use it as a breeder the same way you'd put some white widow or afghani etc. up in rederalis to make it resinous.

Yep actuall collected small amount of pollen from all scoping out all my females to make a few crosses with wish I got more off of them but I'm sure it will be enough to do the damn thing a few times going to keep the male kalishnapple kush clone I made a while ago and keeping the Tahoe male the only plant that didn't drop any pollen was the crazy train . Have a few more strains That should start showing sex pretty soon . Chernoble, space Jill , time wreck . Proly gonna get a few in those as well . Now I just need to pick some strains to cross and hope for the best cause I really have no clue about cross breeding but no better way to learn than to jump into the fire.

if you have some smoke reports on strains that don't couchlock to get you high, i'd be interested in that. i'm just looking for better strains than the best of what i've tried so far.

i smoked some kind of pineapple once. i'd say it's buzz was similar to skunk #1. could have been p chunk

other crosses that use the recipe will vary by wherever the strains were sourced with natural pheno variation a part too, but the cross should be decent enough. haze x skunk is some crazy potent shit, NL haze has many fans and so on. if anything, a good fruity haze crossed with a good blueberry should be potent, up and tasty too.

After looking at the phenotype - internode length , leaf pattern structure ,ect , and using a 10x magnifying glass to look for trichromes on males. Let them flower , paper bag them ( to save pollen) , several peeps smoke then add up variables and use the saved pollen to cross. Pick the best female, smoke from that, and go with those seeds- wash, rinse repeat and outcross when needed JMHO Peace
