Morning boys and girls well again I am looking for information and am seeing who and if any can help me out.

So I wanna know what it takes to open a CC. How does one get established? Give me all the details you can.

Do I have to register with anyone and if so whom? How big and detailed is an application process? Do I need approval from city council? The answers to questions like this is what I am after - thanks

the biggest thing to look out for is if the city or county your trying to open it in has any restrictions about compassion clubs (or whatever you want to call it), second MI has no prevision in the current law for CC's, so you will be operating in a grey area for sure and risk federal raids. Currently the way the law is set up it allows a patient to have a caregiver (or be their own) the caregiver (weather patient or otherwise) is allow to grow and or procure meds for the patient (5 max) not exceeding 2.5 usable ounces (this is not the complete laws...i am just paraphrasing).

Getting established would be like any other business, you need:
Product
Location

for product you can grow your own or hook up with other growers and buy their overages (grey area), you will need quite a bit on hand (assuming you can get clients) and multiple strains, some one else can help you with those figures.

for Location you need a store front / grow space, be sure the landlord is cool with your business otherwise they will evict you(also make sure you check the city laws before you sign a lease)

Other than that it's up to you, like i said the is nothing written into the law so the actual operation will be unregulated (again opening you up to raids)

Be smart and safe...

Well, if you are talking about a type of compassion club that I used to run, where information was given out and growing advice was given free of charge, then all you need is venue to hold it. I suggest making a nonprofit org, which you can do with 20 bucks and a trip to Lansing. This will allow you to get a venue free of charge, like a VFW; but the important part is that you are not making any income or selling ANYTHING on the premises.

Good Luck.

Dude I have been meeting someone I found off thcfinder.com. Called them up and they delivered the meds to me, Thats pretty easy and its patient to patient is the best way you can do it. So long as they have a card not cashed check bullshit. I think you would be find doing it that way, better then opening a store up.

Good luck

It will be one of the truest Compassion Clubs in the world. It will be non-profit. I need nothing more then to serve.

"I suggest making a nonprofit org,"

That shouldn't be a suggestion, that is a must.
It's actually a requirement.

All dispensaries operate under "non profit", and non profit does not mean you can not make money, or pay employee's for hours worked.

A nonprofit organization (abbreviated as NPO, also known as a not-for-profit organization[1]) is an organization that does not distribute its surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead uses them to help pursue its goals.

Thanks Buddy Ganga!

Yup cannot wait. I still do not know if many people in my area are up for something like that? I sure hope there is cause one is coming.

I agree with weeds247. I have started a compassion club also with the NPO status. We hold public meetings to inform the public of the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act. Our clubhouse is private with members that pay dues. I have met alot of patients and helped them get qualified. Good luck in your venture hic.

Cool JuztGreenBuds! If ya don't mind me asking where in MI is your CC?.

I think one thing I should really start doing is going to these CC meetings and geeting a better overall veiw of everything. I am wondering do you guys think I will have to become a member to all the CC I am intrested in observing?. I think I really got to get out there and build a few bridges along this path.

I am still going over everything. I have not even put my foot in the door as in terms of opening one. Thanks everyone.
