When I make my "super" brownies, I skip the step of making canna-butter or canna-oil. I think that's there is other properties in weed that will get you high other than just simply thc. So I get one of them betty crocker brownie mix boxes. Take one full ounce of marijuana bud, bust up in coffee grinder and mix the weed in with the oil it calls for in the brownie mix. Then mix everything together and bake. Once it cools, slap a nice hefty layer of chocolate icing on, and a bunch of walnuts and its almost impossible to notice the marijuana. And by jesus, does one brownie ever get you stoned. lol :eyesmoke:

i agree with stonerman, u can break your thc down if you're too aggressive with the heat in melting your butter. just fling in the weed.

if you wanna test quantities and strength make ur mixture with a base amount of weed then seperate it into four lots and add a bit more to each lot. you'll work out a ratio of mix volume to weed added that works for you.

the packet boxy stuff is definitely the way to go, less mess to deal with after and means you wont lose your weed on a shitty recipe or miss out some vital ingredient, or my favourite mistake, overdo the bicarb lol.

if your going for brownies melt some white choc and drizzle it over the top, cuts the dark choc and weed nicely

u wanting to eat nice brownies or get high? lol i really do suggest finding a balance you like, might meant that you have to eat a lot of brownie with a little in, or a little brownie with a lot in, but it does come down to personal taste, strain taste etc if you put a half o in and it did nothing then i'd def say stick an o in this time

it does last longer when u eat it. forms tetra-thc (maybe a myth, can't think where i heard that) but your either gonna feel it for as long as its in ur system or u wont, shitloads will just intesify it. do 4 mini brownies with diff amounts

use a double boiler to cook your trim into butter.
That means you have a pot of boiling water on the bottom. And another pot/pan sitting on top, covering the bottom pot.

Put the butter in there, add the trimmings. Also add some water. The water will burn off before the butter does, so you wont lose THC from overheating it. It's better to add more water than less, just to be safe.

Cook for at least an hour. the longer the better. Some people will use a croc pot and leave it there for over a day...

When you're done, pour the butter/water/trim mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Get all the leaf bits outta there. Make sure you use the back of a spoon to mash it up against the strainer, and squeeze all the butter out of it.

Refrigerate it. The butter will solidify on top of the water and then you can separate it.

Dump all of it into your brownie mix. It's ok to use more butter than the recipe calls for.

get really, really high

Doesn't this belong in the cooking with cannabis forum rather than in the general marijuana growing forum?

Always heard its better when you eat it.I was under the impression that THC degrades @ 180F though.WTF?
I think you heard Celcius - 180oC = 350oF (the THC will vaporize near this temperature)

I use vegetable oil, in a crook pot, on low for around 3 1/2 hours. (Keep it under 300 degrees)
Then strain it into a large bowl (don't use cheese cloth), let it cool and pour into bottle.

I take a 48 ounce bottle of vegetable oil and a 75-100 grams of bud and good trim.

The brownie mix calls for 6 oz of oil, makes a good strong brownie.

I actually just made a batch of brownies for later :blsmoke:

Edit: too stoned, will stop typing now

vaporizors work at quite low temps and only burn THC, i was under the impression it burnt off at the lowest temp
http://marijuanavaporizers.com/

a quote:

How Exactly Does It Work?
A vaporizer uses a heating element rather than burning. THC boils at 392 degrees F. Thus if it is heated under 392 F the THC boils and produces a vapor. This is not hot enough for it to burn, so it does not produce the carcinogens and other toxins.

I usually set mine that high or a little higher. :joint::peace:

As was mentioned by others, heat will destroy your THC. Most brownie recipes call for baking at 350 or even 400 degrees; that is way too high. My wife is a chef and she says you can cook at a lower temp for longer and get the same result. I did it her way, cooking at about 275 until done, and they were great. Ok, not great as in the taste; they still tasted like shit, but I did get really baked and that was the only criteria. If I want good tasting brownies I don't put pot in them, simple as that.

And BrickTop is right (as always), so I'm moving this to the cooking forum.

Interesting point about temps: I had read somewhere before that different chemicals in MJ burn off or vaporize at different temps. If that holds true then couldn't you techincally bake at a specific temp to burn off THC content but mabye leave CBD chemicals intact? This would be a perfect pain releiving brownie without getting high as a kite. Yeah, I know that sounds bizarre to some here, but there are legitimate patients out there, ya know. :)

I am going to do my own study on this. I will use the same MMJ batch throughout and will then bake the brownies at differing temps and record the results. I think I already know the answer to this, but just need to prove it conclusively. BrickTop you out there? What say you on this?
