How to grow marijuana without people who I live with finding out.

Hi, I have absolutely no experience in growing marijuana so I'm basically looking for ideas on how to hide that I'm growing it, what seeds, lamp etc... you would recommend and basically just the best way to grow it?
Thanks

there's no way to take a plant all the way thru flowering without some smell leaking out. trust me- mom and dad will know what your doing

Best thing to do is "grow up,get your own place" so you don't have to hide growing. Kids lol

my opinion... it is highly unlikely that you could grow a plant and harvest it without people in the house knowing. sorry to burst your bubble just telling truth as i am sure others will agree with me. Like someone already said the smell will get around, the fans and exhaust fan will make a noise, and when ur tending to your plants wherever u may do it someone may walk in? or wander why u spending so much time in a certain place. like wyteberrywiddow said, (but i will say it in a nicer way lol) get your own place so u can grow without worrying about others!! hope this helps GW

Not trying to be rude but it's reality. Like you and plenty others know it is unlikely to get away with growing and keeping it a secret from the people you live with especially when it's not your house.
Chances are from the post and question that this is someone in a room in moms house and wants to grow in his closet. Unless you are able to explain why your room smells like weed all day and wierd noises and all types of time then you should not grow now.

yep yep youd be better guerilla growing 4-5 plants out in the woods or a couple deep in your backyard ( if it is deep ). and if it is your parents your hiding from. and you do choose your yard. you might want to start a smaller friendly garden of potent plants (rosemary, sage) as a distraction not only will it chill out marijuana plants smell but your parents will think thats what your working on. if your parents dont know any better and are dull and lame, start a 4 foot by 4 foot garden right in your backyard, grow everything, carrots tomattoes, corn, etc. and in the midst put your plants. liek isaid if htey are cluless they wont know what the fuck is in your garden :)

If you live with people don't grow! I don't see how its possible to cover up the smell and the noise and possibly the heat without someone finding out.

That is excellent advice, you would be surprised how well MJ blends in when it surrounded by other plants. You could literally be standing right next to it and not notice it if you didn't know it was there.

It is very easy to cover smell with carbon filters and noisy ass fans.
Even with a muffler, there will still be noise.

Easy cheap setup no one will notice anything and if they do you say it's a server or gaming system cabinet that has to be air-cooled. - Covers the why do I hear a fan question... lol

As for where to get seeds I can't help you there. I just use bag seed or clones from my local shop. If it's your first grow I would recommend finding and easy strain to grow.

You will need the following items
PPM Meter - Checks the dissolved solids in your water. Important
PH Meter - Checks the PH. 5.8 seems to work great for my strain but it's different with each strain. I've had some that prefer 7+ and some that prefer as low as 5.
PH Up and PH Down. - Make sure the solution or power you get is safe for humans. I use the cheap stuff from my local fish shop. works perfect around $4.00 each and its safe.
DO NOT EVER USE MIRACLE GROW. Especially the water retention kind. I don't care what other people think about it. It is absolute crap. This is your first grow so spend the money get good soil. I like fox farms but opinions very. - Most soils will have bugs in them... good or bad you don't want any bugs inside your home. More information about this below.
Perlite or Vermiculite... Mix in with your soil I like to at 1/3rd perlite to 2/3rd.'s soil for drainage. I prefer perlite but it doesn't really matter they both do the same thing.
Play Sand. Yes I said Play Sand. You want to add about 1-2 inch layer on top of your soil and you can add some to your soil mixture as well for drainage.
Fertilizer - I like Fox Farms as do many others. I have used the Miracle grow tomato and vegetable fertilizer with ok results but I still have to say spend the extra money and buy the best you can afford. Make sure any ferts you buy are food safe. The better the fert the better your plants will come out.

Pest Prevention.

Diatomaceous earth. If you are making a large batch add about 1/2 to 1 cup to your soil mixture. - If your making a small batch a handful will work.
Get glue boards 1 for each plant - Make sure the package says CONTAINS NO POISON.... VERY IMPORTANT. - Put one glue board on top of your sand layer
Get fly Paper - same as above make sure it says CONTAINS NO POISON.
Check daily for pests. Once your plants hit about 2 feet tall get some white printer paper and shake the plants lightly over the paper to make sure you have no bugs on your plant.

If you see any pests on either the fly paper or the glue strip you will need to take action ASAP. Some pest can kill your plant in just a couple of days. Pest control is out of my level of experience and I'm still dealing with pest problems because I didn't listen to people on the forums... Don't make the same mistake I did. Take preventative measures.

Ok onto the setup.

Items needed

2x4x6 storage cabinet
1 sheet 1/4 inch plywood
Mylar - to cover everything inside.
Foam window insulation tape.
2-3 1x2 inch boards
1 1x3 inch board
2 6 inch inline duct fans M
inimum 250 CFM
25 feet flexible aluminum ducting
2 6 inch 90 degree elbows
25 feet 6 inch flexible ducting
2 rolls DUCK tape - BLACK - you need about 50 yards total
2 rolls aluminum foil DUCT tape - you need about 50 yards total
6 inch hole saw or jig saw
4 6 inch diffuser or soffit vents
Flat black spray paint - safe for wood plastic and metal.
1 Hasp keyed lock. 4 inch
1 Barrel bolt.
1 tube of liquid nails
2 eye screws... the screw with a hole on one end for hanging things.
1-2 cans FLAT BLACK SPRAY PAINT. Primer works the best and is usually under $2.00

Instructions

Build the cabinet and glue everything together with the liquid nails. Don't add the shelves and crap that goes inside just put the plywood cut to fit on the back and install the doors make sure the cabinet is square so the doors close properly and make sure to GLUE everything. No Glue = No Structural Support. Lol first time I did this the cabinet fell over breaking everything and had to start over... Make sure you glue everything.

Cut 2 6 inch holes in the top and two 6 inch holes in the back plywood... make sure the cuts on the back are about 2-3 inches off the bottom and away from the sides.
Install the diffuser vents into the holes. It helps if you attach flexible ducting to it before you slide them in the holes. Make sure you have at least 5 feet for each vent

Tape all the corners of the cabinet with the AF tape then cover with the Black DT then cover again with the AF tape. Do the same around the vents and where the doors hinge. This will prevent almost all light leaks. This is a Very Important Step

Cut 1x2 to fit inside as support for the top. Put it in the back in the middle of the cabinet against the plywood. Glue using liquid nails and screw from the inside.

Cover everything inside with Mylar using the AF Tape or if your lazy like me just get spray glue and glue it on.

Cut to fit a 1x2 between the two top vents for hanging your light. MAKE SURE TO GLUE THIS AS WELL AS SCREW IT IN. Do not glue to the Mylar cut out a space to fit the board first.

Close one of the doors and cut to fit the 1x3 board. Attach it to one of the doors so it covers the gap between them yet still allows the door to open and close freely.
Line the doors with the foam insulation tape then cover the foam with black DUCK tape. Line all around the doors to create a good seal.

For the door hinges. AF tape then black DT then another layer of the AF tape. Cover the hinges well with Black DT and AF tape to prevent any light leaks

Cut 2 pieces of the second 1x2 and put one on top and one on the bottom so the doors touch it snug. Line with the window insulation tape and cover the tape with black DT and AF tape

Cut a hole to fit 2 barrel locks in the 1x2's one on the top and one on the bottom. Install 2 of the barrel locks on the 1x3 attached to the inside of the door. This is very important make sure they are secure and everything fits nicely. You might need a steel plate or something if your barrel locks are to small I use 4-6 inch ones seem to work the best.

Install the Hasp Lock on the outside door with the keyed part opposite the side with the 1x3

Install the last barrel lock on under or above the Hasp lock - this keeps everything sealed where the Hasp lock provides sufficient protection from nosey people.

Clean the oil off the 90 degree elbows and spray paint the insides black do the same to all your ducting and vents. DON'T SPRAY THE OUT SIDE OF THE VENTS ONLY THE INSIDE.

Hang your light to the 1x2 you installed between the top vents and install both 6 inch 90's one facing up the other facing down. Tape with AF Tape and Install 1 of the inline duct fans to the top of the 90 facing up. Make sure the fan is PULLING the air up... There should be a direction arrow on the fan. Also make sure to spray paint the inside of the ducting at least 12-24 inches if possible if you haven't done so yet. This helps with light diffusion.

Connect your ducting to both of the 90 elbow connectors and run one duct to the top vent "Exhaust" and one to the opposite bottom vent "Intake".

Install a 3 foot flexible ducting to the other top vent blowing OUT. Tape with AF tape and mount to the top opposite side of the cabinet. Do the same to the other bottom vent but don't add an intake fan leave it passive... Very Important to hold back pressure inside the cabinet.

Install 2 power strips to the side of the cabinet anywhere you like I put mine just above a hole I cut in the bottom for the plugs. Make sure your power strips do not have any lights on them.

Plug everything in and test your set up. Run it for at least 2 hours to make sure everything is sealed. The cabinet's inside temp should be within 5 degrees of your room temperature.

If everything is working fine and your happy with the set up add 2-3 plants or do a "SOG" Sea of Green. You could easily put up to 12 to 24 plants in with the SOG technique if needed but I wouldn't go more then 9 at most due to the light output of the 400w.

I only grow what I need for my medicine so 2-3 larger plants in a 2.5 gallon bucket works better for me. If you use 5 gallon buckets you can get 4 in the cabinet but its a tight fit.

Make sure to put your girls into flower before they hit the 2 foot mark or you wont have enough room for them to grow big dense medicine. If done right you can safely have the tops of the plants touching the cool tube with no problems or heat stress although I recommend keeping the light at least 12-18 inches from the tops but toward the end of flowering they will be reaching the tube anyway. It might be a good idea to install a carbon filter on your exhaust vents but with my experience I haven't really needed to with this setup as it processes the air in the cabinet about 3 times a minute. If you add a filter it will cut your air flow big time. Towards the end of flowering you will have a slight smell but I just stick fabric softener sheets on the inside of my exhaust vents and my room smells fresh like I just did laundry... Saves a lot of money is safe because it's on the exhaust vents and does NOT restrict air flow that much.

I will post a picture of what it should look like later as my baby's are in flower right now so I don't want to disturb their light cycle. Speaking of light cycle make sure during veg growth you give them at least 4 hours of darkness daily. I usually do 6 hours dark and 18 with the lights on but this is also strain dependent. When your ready to flower switch over to 12 on 12 off. After about 2 weeks you should see either little white hairs coming out from the leaf nodes or little banana looking things. If you see the little white hairs coming out of what looks like a green water droplet then you most likely have a female. Google the difference between male and female plants for pictures its pretty easy to figure it out. Kill any males... You don't want them anywhere in our around your home.

I really hope this helps.

and this is at the rate that your parents have never known a person to smoke it rather even have tried it themselves. plants such as mint and various oaks grow verry similar leaves. specially saliva which flowers purple suprisingly.
take into account. but if who ever you are living with knows anything or anyone whos smoked or grown, dont consider. they will find out what youre up to.

I grew in a closet in my room with a blanket and poly plastic hung on the inside and no one found out.The blanket and plastic keeps the light in and also muffles sound from my ballast and fans
