View attachment 3299057 Yeah man these are royal queen autos I did out
Side in 10 gallon pots, you can see they are about as tall as the 6 foot fence
I totoally belive inside in dwc they could of been half pounders they were only like 4-5 oz a plant outside.

And as for the loud smell totally is the cure and letting the bud go to it's full maturity, premature bud dosnt smell good and dank it smells more green. So let it get really ripe and cut dry and get it in the jar and burp everyday. After 2 weeks the smell changes a lot from a green plant smell to that dank musky smell I think your talking about ha.
Did you use alot of nutes on those and how much daylight were they seeing. Had a couple outside and got 1 oz per plant. Didn't use a lot of nutes though. And had em in 2 gal pots.

Nope no nutes just roots organic soil, similar to fox farms.
The big pots has a lot to do with size when the roots can really stretch in a nice arrayed soil they grow fast.
And I was getting like 6-7 direct sunlight.
I did them from feb 10th and harvested like May 10th so it was really nice and warm summer sun that was probley more intense then the sun in say October when the days are shorter and it's colder and cloudier.
I'm in SoCal so it's nice and warm most the year.

I try and just dry them until the stems snap like right as they do if u over dry u kinda loose smell and flovor.
And my temps are like 73-78 lights on and 65-70 lights off.
Rh like 30%-60%percent, closer to 30% when lights are on closer to 60%when there off.

I think you bring up a good point here - the smell is already there, but it's more of a matter of keeping it around after the dry / cure imo...Too dry n you just can't get it back. I think it throws people off that the smell isn't quite what they're used to when you first harvest, and then a lot of times they end up over drying thinking it will bring out the smell they're trying to get...The smell is already 'there' it just has to come out after a nice cure, but can be lost with a bad dry...idk lol

The big deal with the newer, better autos is the breeding. The breeders have had a couple years to play around with genetics ;-)

The dank and musty smell of great bud has it's rewards and penalties. The reward is, if it's yours, you get to set it on fire :D. The penalty of that is, if you set it on fire, other people will be able to point it out easier. But I have found that a proper cure will produce the smell that you want, and the longer you cure, the better the outcome will be. Plus the strain does have a lot to do with it.

Cheers!

The smell is usually genetic related.
An auto isnt going to have that old school skunk smell the way a true photo plant does. Genetically its part ruderalis so if u expect autos to produce that ur going to be disappointed.
U can cure it for as long as u want and i would still say that even a tga chernobyl will smell ten times better the day u cut it down than any auto u cure for however long.

Just my two cents
