how to get 1lb.+ per plant

I have 6 plants I want to grow in a hydroponic system and I want to know how much light do I need to get a 1 lb. or more for each plant?

1 pound per plant indoors is a lofty goal.. It is achievable ..

I saw a plant that was grow indoors that YIELDED DRY weight 3.5 pounds..

It had a 1000 watt HPS over head and it was surrounded by 14 - 100 watt envirolights for side lighting.. that is a total of 24oo watts... the guy was an expert grower and built a special closet to accomodate this plant.

SIDE LIGHTING will be KEY to your success... YOU can even hang 1000 watt bulbs in between your plants...

These plants will also require massive maintenance.... lots of care and maticulous attention to branches..... tying the braches UP to maintain the wieght of the buds is VERY VERY likely..

At least 4000w HID, but you need to post 1000x more information for any accurate answer....have you ever grown? how big is the room? what strain are you growing? what nutes are you going to use? what is the ventilation you have? how long are you going to veg? are you going to put them in an SOG or ScrOG? what type of hydroponics system? what do you have for CO2 supplementation?

IF this is a first time grow I think an oz per plant is good. (depending on the light and the grow enviorment)
You will usually improve from that each grow.

I nearly achieved a pound of dried weight from a single plant with just a single 600w hps. I got around 14-15 oz dry, wet and non manicured it weighed 48oz

The pic of you holding that TREE is unreal. I think i'm gonna work on getting some side lighting.

As for the original poster, hate to say it but i think you're pipe dreamin. I doubt most people get a lb. per-plant on their first grow. An oz. per-plant sounds alot more realistic. Then again, if you have a great set-up and a great strain, it's still in the realm of possibility.

on your first grow dont be suprised if the number of grams you harvest is in single digits.

Im gonna guess for 6 plants each to get a pound your looking at 5 foot plants with somewhere around 3000 watts per plant in excellent grow conditions with co2 and absolute skill.Good luck on that

stick it outside will give you a chance....or be ready to spend 2500 (us) or so to get these kinda results

the trick is light, light light, with most people not understanding about building reflective surfaces CLOSE.....

look, if you are trying to do this for results and you can spend the time on various net research and etc, you should, its worth it, and yes, most people say if you get one to two ounces that is good, its NOT, set your standards higher!

Making a plant yield indoors just as much as it would (IN the set amount of space you are using as compared to that SAME space outside) is very doable and it really is about light first. good c02 distribution, nutrients and growing mediums are all seconds but just as important.

The DEA did studies on pot which showed that a plant can READILY yield up to FIVE POUNDS per plant INDOORS.

People with growing basically stick to what their buddies in real life or on the net tell them and don't search around enough for the right answers, keep that in mind

You can easily achieve 5 to 7 oz per plant if your lumens are calculated to be very strong. There are a couple growers on here that are yielding results like this with 3000 watts of light. One is doing a ebb and grow system and the other is doing soil. I thought 2 oz was a limit but if you have the correct amount of light and you veg up to about 24 inches you will achieve 5 to 7 ozs. If anyone cannot find these grows I will post a link.

I have had no problem reaching 1/2lb off of two plants using 400watt hps in a 4x4 tent. With enough light and love anything is possible.

Getting a pound per lamp is a better goal, unless you grow outdoors. Veg indoors, and plant outside. I have gotten almost 3 per outside, and 7-10 oz indoors... http://imgur.com/cxHb8LO
