How to feed plant with nutes?

think it would be alright to leave the seedlings in the sun? i only have an 80 watt cfl light system right now that i keep on 20/4, so i was thinking that leaving the seedlings on my balcony under the summer sun would not only save a little money, but provide better light for them as well. but is it still ok if they are shaded?

it's not so good to move plants between outdoors and indoors. pest wise, it could cause problems. better avoid it. and also, no good in the shade, only direct sun.

Great advice bugs mites flys etc. Are the only reason I don't move my plants outside on the daily basis or id be usein the sun and sellin my grow lamps lol good stuff.

Here homie... I'm not a pro but I live and die by this schedule it works wonders follow this and youll have dome monsters...

Yea if he keeps it real simple and makes sure his ph is in check once daily a lot of the feeding probs he could possibly encounter will be easily forgiven by the weeds lol. Id def agree with changeing out the water on the regular especially if I didn't have a ppm meter just to be on the safe side its real easy to get the feed outta control real quick. That being said tho its really not necessary to do changes every week. I think in a healthy its better to let it roll once established and weekly changes is only gonna keep the ph on the swing but still not hard to keep dialed as long as your vigelant with the changes.
Will say that fresh water topoffs and total res changeouts will bring u massive growth explosions I think we've all seen and can attest to that. Can save on a lot of nutes tho just timeing your res changes to match what your plants need for each stage of growth. And the less res changes u put in the less work u will have ph'ing the water.
A lot of great advice up in here. There's a lot of pros n cons to it all.
My main goal rite now would be snatchin up a ppm meter tho and take complete control over grow.
How they doing now bro?

Im basically following the schedule given by GH and ive seen no problem with the feeding aspect. I purchased some Dutch Master Gold Zone yesterday because I had some brown algae that killed off one plant and i noticed that the other two looked a litttle dirty so I changed out the res and cleaned eerything out and added that with the nutes. Brown algae i think was caused by bringing the res out in the sun where it was too hot and water was exposed to light due to poor construction. Anyways I dont think Ill be having a problem with that as I am keeping them indoors in their grow home and I just purchased some mylar which I'm pretty sure is blocking out 99.99% of any light. Lets see, the plants themselves seem to be doing ok. They are 12-13 days old by now and I was hopiing they would be a lot taller and would have fanned out a lot more. They are about 4" tall and 3.5" wide. They have 3 sets of fan leaves with the fourth growing out, but mind you they are all pretty small and very very close together in height. For example one plants largest leaf is about 1.5" long and .5 inches wide, and the other is about 1" long and 2 cm...Plants at nearly two weeks i thought would have been at least twice the size of what mine are now...kinda makes me sad. But they are looking pretty healthy at least so thats good. Sorry no camera so no photos.

I think it has to do with my lights. THey are 4 26 watt cfls but rated at 5k rather than 65k. I do 19/5 light schedule as well. I know thats a little weird but I thought since natural light kind of dims over a period oof time rather than just compeltely shuts off I should try to replicate with what ive got and so I have one light with a Y connector that shuts off at 18 hrs and the other that shuts off like 30 mins-1 hour later. (i dnt really know when the last pair of lights shut off exactly cause it happens while im sleeping.)

Anyways im definitely getting a 250 watt hps/mh i saw on ebay for around 140$ and thats free shipping but includes sales tax to my state.

Its a pretty good deal i think. I would go for the 400 watt but my budget is low and i cant afford to buy the corresponding exhaust for the heat that a 400 watt would put out especially in my grow box which is (L/W/H) 30"x22"x48". 250 still puts out a great amount of light for the plants (around 35k i believe) and its heat is apparently controllable with a fan that rates 100cfm which is great because I can then use a cheap booster fan such as this http://cgi.ebay.com/6-INLINE-Duct-fan-booster-/110702121300?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c65c5154#ht_500wt_1156 t control the heat and odor.

So just a summary of whats happened lately:

1. got a littl brown algae a week ago that killed a plant 2 days ago.
1. bought DM Gold Zone and a new air pump
1. bought some mylar and gonna wrap up the grow area
1. derp derp derp derp
1. boosted the nutrients to the proper amount for its stage of growth (or so I thinks)
1. ordered a digital Hannah Ph meter this morning
1. im very high

edit: so i realise that i numbered everything with "1". yup. im high. oh yeah and.....well, i just lost my thought...damn seriosuly. the reason i edited was to tell some bit of info then i saw what i had done with the numbers and god damn now i forgot what i wanted to say.

edit 2: ok i think it might have had somethng to do with the second air pump i bought, but im pretty sure i had something much more important to say. but yeah thats that fuck it.

edit 3. oh yeah and yesterday when i was cleaning the res i forgot to keep my roots hydrated and well they got a little dehydrated and dry but once i remembered i immediately put them in some nice cool clean water. So just wondering, is that gonna affect my plants at all?

edit 4. oh yeah fuck i justs remembered what i wanted to say. I started germinating a replacement for the plant that died! lolol fuck yeah score 1 in the memory test for the stoners!woooooo!......btw i ate the leaves of the dead plant since it was dead and the had no purpose and haha they tasted like weak spicy pot hahaha. the name of the deceased was Fiona. Her replacement only just broke through her seed so i wont name it until ive got some identifying features i.e. leaves. the other two are called evaline and adel. sucks if one of them turns out to be a guy. hes gonna be so confused about his name lol. ok end of the last edit hahaha.

haha wait i had a serious question interspersed in that long ramble! if the roots dries out a bit will it affect the plant? also has anyone ever used DM Gold Zone? and is the plant size average for its age? if found a video with plants that look almostexaclly like mine except mine are 1 week younger. The top two in this vid are most identical to mine. what dyall thank hrmmm??

so i dont think Zone was the answer to my problems. The brown stuff is back with a vengeance. Not too bad, but not good. Gonna try a peroxide dunk tonight. Can someone just detail how i should do it? Do i just change the res and sterilize with the peroxide and/or bleach and then also add peroxide to the res before nutes and such? Do i flush and change res again or can i just add it along with the zone and nutes? 3% at 5ml per gallon right? can i add nutes to it or shoul di just stick with peroxide for a couple of days?

I just clean my res with a very mild dose of the 3 part and water... And a Lil h202 and mine turn out fine. Sometimes your roots change colors due to the mutes your using also. Slot of times the micro turns it brown

nah theres definitely some type of build up that is occuring and not just root staining but idk what it is. I know GH micro does stain the roots. the roots continue to grow as does the foliage but its a bit slow. the brown stuff isnt slimy nor mucky or anything. it almost looks like little fibers of cotton or something just tainted brown that gets caught in the roots..im pretty sure its root rot though. theres one long root one of my plants that seems to have been eaten away near the tip and is just hanging by a fiber. the only explanations are that i either damaged it while cleaning or the pythium is getting hungry. actually adding the Zone seemed to have strengthened the roots a little bit cause they seems a lot tougher and the tips of the roots have slightly bulked up and look bulbous and im seeing some hair beginning to branch out.. idk im getting h202 tonight so i just hope i'll be able to kill off all the pythium (if it is that) and that the DM Zone will be enough to ward off any other intruders. Id really hate to lose my first grow to this.

Id definetely reccomend u getting some beneficial bacteria up in there. Knock on wood I've never had the rot or slime! But my nutez do stain my roots.. Since I started useing the bennies even the root stain is gone my roots all look pearly white. U can literally notice a difference in white and just overall health in the rootzone in just a couple days not to mention a huge growth in root mass in just a couple weeks. Get those bennies man its been the missing piece to my grow puzzle for a long time. Won't grow without them from here on out. Check out hiesenbergs thread on how to make ur own bennies he made it intially to help peeps out dealing with certain root issues and the benefits of useing the microbes I can attest to.

yeah i think i actually put in an order for some Aquashield actually cause i hear a lot of good reviews for that. I shouldve got that from the beginning i was just afraid of rendering them useless since i would be mixing bennies with chemical nutes you know? But whatever each mistake is a lesson. But actually I've noticed a little improvement from using DM Zone. There has been some little root growth and those new roots are comparitively thicker and the it seems the build up of brown has lessened. Ill keep using it until the Aquashield comes in and them change the res out and add the AS so i can make some comparisons.

Got u and to be honest I'm not sure if there's different types of supplements your supposed to use in addition while your useing synthetic nutes and beneficial bacteria as opposed to organic nutes while useing beneficial bacteria. I use organic based nutes. Thanks for the heads up beacause I don't know I barely just started useing beneficial bacteria in my system so that's something I'm going to have to research more. Good looking out. Either way hope u get ur issues handled for sure. Let us know how it works out happy growing hope all goes well.
