How to earn a job with a dispensary grow-op?

I'm new to Colorado and the MMJ scene entirely and am trying to gain some knowledge about how things work. I've been growing on and off for 6 years, and have been growing steady for the past year. I've grown hydroponically and organically using soil. I have always been interested in growing, and furthering my knowledge in horticulture.

This is why I'm trying to attain a job growing for a Dispensary.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this happen?

read read and read some more. bring some of your product i the store as a sample for them, kinda showing off your skillz, assuming you have some. Tell them you would be an intern for a year at no cost to them just to learn the industry. and probably the biggest misunderstanding or myth is that you get free weed.

also those other 3000 people in front of you? well they had the same idea, you are going to have to wait your turn

That was kinda what I thought. You probably need to know someone to really get your foot in the door. I think I may make a small portfolio and talk to the dispensaries in my area. Thanks for the reply!

One major problem that you will run into is that dispensaries have to grow 70 % of their own "medicine" . The other 30 % can only be purchased from another legal dispensary that has excess. Dispensaries are no longer allowed to buy from just anybody with a good crop.

I understand that, I'm looking for a job working for a dispensary. I'm currently a caregiver for my best friend, but growing six plants isn't enough for me. I'm really interested in managing or helping manage a large scale grow.

Thanks for all the reply's. Keep em coming!

aside from the job part (which I understand), why isn't 6 enough? are you limited on space or electic?

The last grow I did was in a 15x10' shed, full of plants. Cracking seeds, making selections, and eventually breeding is what I want to do most. But being restricted to growing 3 veg/3 flower plants inhibits us from effectively growing from seed. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful that mmj laws are in place that allow us to grow without fear of being persecuted. However, I enjoy growing from seed, and making selections based on my patients needs.

I love your avatar!

well if your a caregiver for your friend then you should be able to do his three + your three so your at six right there (and thats just flowering you also get six veg plants too)..try to find a couple more people to be a cargiver for and hopefully at least one will have an extended plant limit. At the least if you fill your patient quota you should be able to have 18 plants (3 for each patient and your 3)

I know this doesnt help in your search for a dispensary job but dont get too down on the number just yet.

Your problem is a very simple one. Once you grow pot well enough to have a dispensary want to hire you, you wont want to work for a dispensary.

That looks like more good than bad to me, but I know what your saying. I think. Do you own a dispensary, or work as a grower?
a little of both. good to be around the girls daily, there is a harmony with them. but it's also a 7 day a week job with little breaks yet + the constant fear factor is crap on the nerves and stress doesn't help my condition (good thing I can medicate).

Funniest thing about this, that is less than half of the flower room...... LoL. Def still jealous!
.... and 3 more rows to go .... :) u should stop in this weekend bro. the headbands finished HUGE. mystic purps are ready too.

Bingo! I sometimes think it would be fun to go back to the pre 1284, 15 patient/99 plant days. But at the end of the day, I honestly think I prefer having the freedom to work very few hours with my 5 patient grow but still be able to live fairly comfortably. Well, for now at least. Chris Romer would rather see parasites like me who have no ability to work a traditional mainstream job unemployed, living in a homeless shelter. Hopefully this chapter runs as long as possible but I think the ability to make a comfortable living as a legal CO caregiver is winding down. Hopefully I'm wrong.

On a side note, is your headband strain the Reserva Privada one? If so, how many beans did you have to pop to get a good pheno?
