How to apply bone meal?

Do I apply more than once? Like, should I treat it as any other fertilizer or do I just apply once?

lol I have bad experience with bone meal and blood meal. How to apply it, I mixed it around with the soil before I planted, you could also probably sprinkle it just on top of the soil or mix it in with the water, either way the plant will get the nutrients from it. There is one thing wrong with it, and I am saving you alot of time and hassle, bone and blood meal, many outside animals are attracted to it, and will gather and demolish your crop, coyotes digging the ground up trying to get at it. I used blood meal one time, and had seedlings sitting outside one night, they were probably about 3 weeks old. 6 inches high and some small little creature had knocked over all of the pots eating the plants and chewing on every single one of the pots. I went to check it the next morning, and there was little teeth marks all through my pots and the plants were chewed up also. I was lucky enough to get a second grow in before it was to late though lol. hope that helps.

Yeah critters do like that bone n blood meal , its so tasty to them..yuck...

I usually use it at half the recommended strength, mixed with the soil before I plant in it.
