How soon after harvest can I make butter?

I have a real nice Afghan Kush ( world of seeds ) that's just about ready for harvest.I plan on letting it cure for several weeks before I start smoking it .But what about making butter?Do I still need to wait that long before I make butter,or can that be done right away?I have made butter with cured weed,but never tried it with freshly harvested weed.

Thanks,I know about the decarbing process,I have already made a few batches that came out good.I just wasn't sure how long I need to let the weed dry before I start.
