i've been growing 5 plants from bagseed for a little over a week now. the only thing is, i've had the wrong spectrum of CFLs. i've got reds. (yes, i'm a dumbass, but it is my first time) all of the plants seem to be struggling somehow. my best one is very droopy now, and i don't know if it's because of overwatering or just because it hasn't been getting the right kind of light.

they each have a bulb to themselves, and the bulbs are all an inch or so away. they're on 18/6 light.

pic1: best seedling, but very droopy now.
pic2: second best, looks healthier
pic3: this is how the other 3 seedlings look.

i will be getting 8 blue cfls tomorrow; can i save them from their mars hell or is it too late? :(

they'll be fine....the difference is not in their life or death but the degree of potential they achieve over their life. a minor hiccup will adjust for final achievement, but if loving care and attention continues, I'm sure you will be pleased with your result. good luck!

a little update, if anybody cares: i finally replaced the 26w reds with 30w blues and in a little less than 6 hours, there's been a drastic improvement. leaves are less droopy, and the plants are starting to stretch.

what's a good indication for when i should transplant them from solo cups to pots? they're all a bit different, developmentally, and i want to transplant them all at once instead of one at a time because it won't make any sense in my lighting situation.

Droopyness shouldn't be because of the lights. Wrong lights should just lead to stunted growth. What's your PH and temp around the plants? Anyways, the pic I attached is of my oldest, about 7 weeks now, she's survived 2 weeks of lighting in the wrong color spectrum, 5 weeks of low PH, and 2 just after i changed the light all are leaves were eaten. So, basically what I'm saying is, you'll be fine. Treat your babies right and they'll grow like weeds.

Check out my journal (link below), I'm made a whole mess of mistakes when I first started, maybe it'll help you.
