I had a friend who has that. He ruptured his eardrum with a stick while tree-planting one spring. He also had a particularly annoying girlfriend that summer we nicknamed "Texas". He didn't mind how much she talked because he said he'd sit her on his ringing ear side. Could tune out stuff easily.

problem is avg speakers dont play sounds at 18kHz
