So as a newbie the question is just that. Once a week, a month? As far as watering goes I watered them on Thursaday and now again today (Mon.) I gave them just enough to see little drops in the drainage tray. Does that sound right? I have these babies under 1000 watt hps. 18 on 6 off. Temp range is 76 to 80. All advice is appreciated!!! :)

I have a 22" purple haze clone not sure the ages. 16" sour d. And 6 three week old white widows. The clones I got on Dec. 3rd. Cant be for sure cause I was loaded at the time, but I think the haze was 10 weeks old. lol. Put them along with my widow seedlings all in pots that day. pics 2010 002.jpg

Every day but you then it would be good to flush em from time to time, just so it does not "lock-out" nutes. Seedling no :D...Not until week 2 or if they start yellowing before a light dose, lets say a quater strenght

Running 1000 watts, you will need to closely monitor due to the heat that goes along with it.

Dude....Not everyday! You don't water everyday...

Give your girls a feeding every other watering. Sounds like you have a few days between waterings now as they are young. You will water more often as they grow and drink/eat more.

Don't let anyone freak you out about a 1000 watt light either, just maintain your temps and roll on brother!

Best of Luck,

Very sound advice. +REP Social.

Pick up the pot after you water. See how heavy it is? Just check it by feeling the weight of the pot, a light pot is dry and a heavy one is wet. Easy as that

Im told diff nutes in diff strengths can be used more/less often...but the recommended schedule is every other so they dont get lock out...if youre like me Im kinda the type that thinks if some is good more is better BUTTTTTTT...its not the case, I use half strength every other watering and when Im feeling sorry for em/in a loving mood which is every minute IM STALKING them, lol, I put like 2 ounces in with the distilled water on the feedings I "dont" use nutes...and of prob 20 plants in my 1st/2nd grow only one plant has had a prob and Im currently trying to figure out wth is wrong with her, shes so unhappy...good luck and good grow...

I would like to know what kind of nutes you are using... next, i would go with a feed/water/water schedule. if you are using built soil (fox farm, miracle grow, roots organic) you already have nutes in your soil for about 3-4 weeks. If at any time you start seeing funny colored runoff, hold on a feeding until you have watered them two more times. it is easy to turn soil toxic with too much watered into it, esp if you are using cheap (poorly built, not inexpensive) nutes. if this is your first time, i would recommend dialing everythg back to no more than half strength of what directions tell you. nute companies are really good at telling you to use more than you need so they can sell you more bottles with different ratios of NPK in them. in soil, i personally use a weak dilution of age old grow, age old kelp for foliar spray, and xtreme gardening mykos WP as an innoculent. i have never torched a plant in soil, and I have had well above average yields any time i grow in soil. it helps that you shared you are growing under a 1k, but are you venting it or just letting it vent itself? 4 degrees in your garden can mean much more evaporation, hence more frequent feedings. it will also help you a ton with watering and feeding schedules if you have a hygrometer to measure humidity in your garden. when you flip them to bloom, (assuming they are photo period phenos), you will want to discontinue a grow formula of nutes, and switch to a bloom formula (something with a LITTLE N still in it to keep photosynthesis healthy through bloom. The last couple of weeks, you are best to just give them pure water with maybe a tiny bit of bud enhancer (bud candy, bat guano sweet leaf, MOAB, etc. These will force the plant to begin to cannibalize itself from the bottom up toward the flowers, and make sure that all available plant energy is focused on growing bud, not stem or leaf. I know this was long winded, but I hope it does help get you a bit more comfy with nutes on your new girls. best of luck

give it nutes every other watering. start off small and advance your way up to the recomended dose. speaking of experience, i gave mine nutes early in vegg and it responded with third degree burns
