I'd say 80% loss of weight, but it might be 75% or 85%.

I also say...... don't count your chickens before they hatch :joint::peace:

Your dry weight will be about 20 percent of your wet weight.

let's rephrase it again your bud will only weigh 1/8 of what it did while it was wet.
Don't confuse the kid just give him the answer hes lookin for 20% of you wet weight is the same as 80% weight loss...

Well I accidentally snipped off a decent "half the size of my thumb" sized bud at havest the other day so I've just left it out to dry - I decided to experiment on weight-loss so I weighed it straight off the plant, and it came out 2.5 grams wet...I've just weighed it again (66 hours later) - 0.9 grams!

I've read you generally get about a third of the wet weight off a plant - not sure exactly how dry it is yet, a bit longer to go I think but it HAS reached the smokeable stage now I think

How are people getting wet weight? I will be drying my plants whole stalk or I may have to break off some larger branches for the first part of drying. These stalks and branches will be removed for curing. Is this weight added into peoples wet weight? Or are these people breaking off every little bud and hanging them to dry with paperclips lol.....

When you look at any living plant or organism, whether cannabis, fruits/veggies, humans, almost everything contains 80-90% water. The majority of this water weight will be lost, leaving you with approx 20% of what you started with. If you do a little extra drying & curing to where it's a bit more brittle, you can actually reduce it to more like 15% or so.
