How much more do Trichomes mature after harvest?

i posted the same question a ways back, and have done my own investigation
with one strain that i ran, a NL, the trichomes stayed pretty close to what i saw at harvest
that was over the course of a year's worth of curing
though i have seen some posts that say otherwise and see changes over time

I believe the change you MIGHT see in the trichomes after harvest is most likely trichome degradation... I don't think they are maturing per say.

When you do whole plant cut/cures .. 'sure' they keep maturing.. for all practical purposes the plant is still alive and growing.. for a few days.. you in theory could take a clone off after it has been cut (if you could get it to root that far in to flower) because it will take days for the plant to completely die.. that is one of the reasons whole plant dries and cures taste and smoke completely different than cures where everything get's chopped up into pieces when the plant is still alive, flash dried in a few days and then stuck in jars to sweat it out..

I'mabout to find out. I chopped the girls down with mostly milky trich all over. Barely some but a few clear. The buds could have gone more for better yeild but whatever. I have them hanging right now. Whole plant upside down. Just a few that are just branches I had to cut off to make it easier. I will reply again in 2 days with an update on trichs

Terpines continue to mature. THC degrades. You can slow the process by storing in cool, dark places since both heat and light lend to thc degrading. That isn't necessarily a bad thing though. We have yet to scratch the surface of these types of questions. What exactly happens over a cure, especially long cures, doesn't have much information. As the thc degrades, terpines change and the buzz, taste, flavors change as well. In my experience, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

Pistils will continue to darken after harvest, but they don't get any stronger. Maturity ends when harvested. BigSteve.
