You could chop now, or soon, but I think you'd be cheating yourself a bit. Looks great for a first grow, but I'd say you could give them another two weeks or so. The leaves are still green and very healthy looking, which leads me to believe that the plant still has some fattening up to do. In the final stages the plant will use up whatever it can to really push those flowers to their fullest potential and as nice as it looks now, if you let it go a bit longer I think you'll be quite impressed. The leaves will start to go yellow/brown, then gradually just fall off after any stored energy is used. That energy is what will help your flowers fatten up and become more dense. Again, you can chop now and be happy with a very nice first grow, or you could wait it out another 10-20 days and be really proud of yourself.

Wow. Great looking for a first grow! How many watts are you flowering under? Is that a cooltube I see? She looks very great man, I would say you have 1-2 weeks left esp for a sativa. I think she still has a little fattening up to do.. Id do some serious trich checking if I were you also. Man, this really makes me want to throw a sativa in the mix next time. I am growing 5 indicas, but im going to get a few TGA hybrids next time like Jack the ripper. This Jack frost looks very nice though what company makes this strain? Best of luck to ya! Looks like its gonna be one happy harvest to me!

i know its only been a day or two but here's another pic of the top cola in the darknezz...i havent dried and cured yet but i live in cali and dont think ive seen bud quite like this...ever.

Ledhed thanks for the props man, ive been babying this bitch for months like a psychopath but i think the results are showing... i agree, the leaves are slowly yellowing but im gonna leave it another week or two, why sell myself short ya kno?

Ay wasgood markamus! thanks for the props, its my first grow and its been a journey. my other plant that was 6" taller hermied so i had to chop it but this lady is under a 400w hps...it mosdef looks like its absorbing the excess light ( i fucked up on my nutes for the first week forgetting to check the Ph AFTER i added flower nutes:fire:: ) but this motherfucker is bulletproof. its my first grow and i kinda regret getting a sativa dominant strain with the long flower time and taller plants but it smells like baby poo mixed with the jack funk:clap: i figured to just do a straight organic grow and i couldn't be happier with the process... after i harvest this baby im planning on another 600w in the 5x5 Grow lab and get 8 T5's for veggin so i can harvest every 2 months! i mean its my first grow so i dont have much experience to base this on, but its absolutely COVERED with crystals; every inch of the lime green nug and all leaves...from far away it looks gnarly

But for the record...Your fan leaves are in pretty damn good condition for the plant being finished like that.
And your plant looks VERY nice...but finished plants always do...:weed:
Thats very ready. Some growers will suggest you leave is, as Ledhead did, and others would say it's already reached it's peak maturity. It's really a personal thing. What kind of a high are you looking for? Letting it become very mature will produce a different kind of high then one who is harvested just before fill maturity.
However, when someones tellin ya that the buds will get bigger and better, it's hard to wanna argue with em or do anything but what they're suggesting.

Do some research. Find out what's gonna work the best for YOU. And overall, GOOD LUCK!! :bigjoint:

I guess you could say its in the preference of the grower dajosh, but ledhead makes a valid point and one i would of made if he dident mention it. That plant looks absolutely wonderful man it really does now think of it in a week or two them buds will do work in those last couple weeks there gonna fatten up so much, also they do say THC acts as a defense mechanism for the plant itself so as a plant reaches the very end of its life cycle its trying to push out as much shit as possible you can do this by shocking a plant about a week before you chop then send it into complete darkness for the last 3 days. It will all pay off in the end trust me brother your doing great and remember a patient grower is a good grower.

Thanks for the advice, i really appreciate it and it sounds like you know your grow shit....i am most likely going to do just that but i was wondering about one part of the final process...when you say 'shocking a plant' do u mean just the flush?....cause i feel like the green in the leaf isnt turning yellow quickly...(only yellow on edges of upper fan leaves and tips are starting to yellow). besides that i really appreciate the time and effort you put into your advice!

More pics up soon!

What i mean by saying shocking a plant at the end of its life cycle are things like turning lights on and off for that last week before it goes into total darkness for the last 3 days, there are other ways of shocking a plant like bending and braking branches but it is alot safer to just mess with lights on them for that last week, remember the plant is nearing the end of its life cycle so by shocking it will be trying to do what it can before it dies or gets harvested. This is theory for most because most havent tried it, but it seems to have worked wonderful for me and my buddies. As far a flushing its a seperate issue make sure for the last week ur flowering before u harvest it you flush with nothin but water, actually id personally flush the last 12 days. Shocking the plant isnt necessary its just a trick for a higher thc content, but i do find it very effective. Just make sure and wait the 2 more weeks, flush that soil good for the last 10 or 11 days and 3 days before the 2 weeks is up keep her in complete darkness for those 3 days then chopp her down :)
