Don't use LED, especially from ebay, cheap chinese lights. Use an HID if you can if not, load up on CFL's

Try a shop light, CFL, HID, something along those lines. Stay away from regular house light bulbs(incandescents), LEDs, and other lights that haven't been tested and proven over time! Let someone who has the money to burn and experience test out the LEDs! Good luck!

Again, 600$ for vegging, not worth it at all. I mean, get a conversion bulb in a 1000W HPS system, you can veg and flower with the same light and muich more plants for much less than the LED.

I'd say you need to ask yourself how much do you need to smoke? Don't go too big your first time seems to be a good piece of advice! If it goes great, you can be mad you didn't do more, but if it doesn't go as well as you thought, you won't be out so much $$ and so mad! good luck!

im thinking about cfl-i got 250w so maybe ill buy 2*300w and that will give me 850w but is it enought??
what is the lumen output of cfl??
dont want too use much W coz off 5.0,
do the cfl use less energy?? coz if not ill go for hps.
my clones are 2weeks old with bigg roots and i just re-pot them
i want too grow and flower together -at the moment they are vegging, when can i add flowering lamps??

cfls generally give out around 60-70 lumens/w, whereas a good hps can give up to 150 lumens/w, so for a given light intensity, the cfls will use more energy.
The advantage of cfls is you can have multiple, low wattage bulbs at many different points around the plant/s rather than having just one single large light source. Also small wattage cfls give off minimal heat so can be mounted closer to the plants without burning.
When you say you want to grow and flower together, I assume you know that you need a seperate area for the two stages of growth, flowering is triggered by 12 hour 'nights' during which the plants need complete darkness to avoid stressing them and turning them into hermies.

i know the light cycles but i have seen leds using red and blue at the same time, and my weed is 11weeks flowering, can i use both lights but at 12/12??
coz the thing is my tent is 2m high-stand is 30cm h.+pot another 30cm h.so im loosing 60cm h. off my space-that leaves me with 1.4m h.
and minus the space for lamp will be tight coz my mothers in flowering got allready 1.3m.
is it safe to use 2*400hps coz im bit worry about the energy consumption ,cfl are energy saving but is it worth it??
lumens are v.importent i know that but wiil there be a big differenc in yeald with cfl than with hps??
and those are my girls
peace :weed:

I'm not sure what you mean by both lights, if you mean HPS and CFLs, yes, you can use both together, this can be useful for lighting lower parts of the plant that the HPS light is not getting to because of distance/shading.

Simple answer, start flowering at 18-20" tall, they should top out at around 3-4'.

CFLs are marketed as energy saving compared to the incandescents most people use to light their houses. As I said in my earlier post, they are much less efficient than a good HPS. If you wanna save energy, go with cfls and use as much wattage as you feel comfortable using. If you wanna grow killer weed, go HPS

For equivalent power consumption, yes.

I hope I understood your questions correctly, if I overlooked anything let me know.
