Hey Guys,
Im pretty new to growing and stuff so i have a few questions about CFLs. I though about growing about 2 Skunk #1:leaf:. I wanted to use 3 CFls à 30W. It would be equivalent wattage of something like 540 W because 1 CFL puts out 180 W. So would those 3 CFLs would the Job for flowering? :)

Hey dude, as per many growers there is a measurment you are looking for which is watts per sq foot I believe. I, however, dont use any light charting as I have grown and flowered a 3 1/2 footer with 1 27 watt cfl before.

What I can tell you is my experience with cfls - One TCP Springlight (homedepot.com 67w(300wEQ) - thats 4800 lumens per bulb. Get three of those bad boys with reflectors and your set for flowering. For veg just go grab 3-4 100w DAYLIGHT cfls (white light, it has a blue spectrum for veg, soft white/tcp doesnt).

If u have any questions let me know!

EDIT: Sorry I must be retardedly baked right now, plus I wasnt able to sleep last night, but I completely skipped over this...

My setup is as follows, 5x TCP Springlights with reflectors evenly over the plants. Inbetween each TCP bulb I put a 100w DAYLIGHT hanging a bit lower than the TCP bulbs to give good blue spectrum for veg. I remove these when I go into flowering to promote the switch when I give my plants 24 hours darkness the day before 12/12. I have had the same TCP bulbs going on 2 years now running full cycle veg 18/6 and 12/12 and only had to replace the 100w bulbs when I fumbled and dropped the damn quad light I was trying to make lol - the new ones have lasted about a year so far and are holding strong. The bulbs from home depot have a 10,000 hour guarantee, I am not sure how this works but I am sure that if they blow out within a couple of months you can bring it back for a new one claiming you only used it an hour or so a day to light your high ceiling living room ;)

TinyGrow is spot on, I as well have vegged and flowered with 4 26w CFLs. But I recently upgraded to 67w CFLs this grow... damn what a difference, just in the light produced.

So would 2 65 W CFLs would be enough for flowerng and getting a decent yield? :)
