My Friend has a question on one of her 4' x 8' Setup.
How much CFM would you need to cool the tent.

Details:
4 by 8 Tent
Room the Tent is in would be around 73F-75F

The air is going to be pulled from the room to the tent, through the carbon filter, through the hoods, and out the door.

Main question is How much CFM would I need to pull the heat through like that. Wouldn't I need more then usual CFM because it has to go through
the carbon filter?

ALSO!!! How much CFM and what size ducting should I use for 400 Watt Mh?!?!?

Thanks guys!

Guys would a 6inch Exhaust at 440CFM be good to go through carbon filter & 2 600's with passive intake in 4 by 8?

The tent is going to be in a room around 76-78 F.

Yes that's how my tent is set up except I run 2 1000w lights... Carbon filter --->hood--->hood--->fan--->out.. Only passive intakes..

Yeah as long as you have the appropriate sized filter. They are classed by cfm. Follow the recommendations. It's going to get hot in that tent BTW, so you might prepare yourself to install an exhaust fan. A 6" booster fan (not the ones at Home Depot) would probably suffice. I'm just guessing though.

What do you mean appropriate sized filter? I'll be getting 6 Inch carbon filter. Just like the guy said up there.. Filter>Hood>Hood>Fan>Muffler>Out. I'll be using passive intake only. Will that be enough? Can 6 Inch Handle that?

I'm using a 6" Valueline fan rated at about 450 cfm and the filter is an active air 50lb filter rated for that size fan.

The temps run about 5 degrees above the ambient room temps. It's cold here so ac is not an issue in the winter. So 70 room then the tent will be aprox 75 degrees.
