how much can I negllect my mother?

need to figure out how I am going to grow and maintain my mother plant. I'm popping seeds next week. Was thinking of vegging several in my clone bucket (just like a rubbermaid deal). But once I make a choice, I need to stick her somewhere to grow and keep at a friends grow op. If I made a 5-gallon bubble bucket for her, how long could I just leave her in the bucket without checking on nutes/changing water?

Or should I take her from the aeroponic situation and try to get her into some soil?

thanks,
B

Why have a mother plant if you are going to stress her out and dont really have a place to keep her? your crop will not be as good and could run the risk of making herm cuttings. IMO just buy seeds every crop.

just clone as many as you want from her and flower her, then do it again for her best daughter.

how long she can last without attention depends on a lot of things. where she's going to be sitting, if she's going to be getting air, light, humidity. if you're not trying to make her big and beautiful she doesn't need much, but still needs a light cycle and food. it's a weed, easy to maintain, but making it dank is another story.

I stress my moms by running them drier and shutting down some of the lighting because I hate cutting them in between cloning and tossing good clones. They get what's drained off every five days from the op for water. Of course they get new second hand water every five days. This never changes. I use a very unfamiliar system on my moms but I posted that in another post.

One of the keys to having 100% success rate and quick cloning is to have a healthy mother plant. They should always be fed and/ or watered not too long before cutting. A stunted mother has stunted clones. DWC is one of the poorest choices for mother plants that are kept for any decent amount of time. For short term, it works great.
