How much can i expect to yield? Please help : )

Ok so im planning on buying a superbox from supercloset.

i think its around a metre high? I would be growing hydro with a 200w cfl , what would i expect to yield from just 1 auto flowering plant? (have not chose a strain yet)

peace

Stop it with your useless , big headed comments. I've been growing for around 2 decades outside , i'm new to all this indoor world. Now helpful comments please?

i have not grown in the described conditions although a good educated guess
would be 3/4 to 1 oz. under optimum conditions maybe a bit more.

The light penetration of the cfl will limit yield.

fuck worring about yield. Worry about keeping them alive to harvest.
An expensive grow cabinet and a shitty little bulb, LMAO
Yield = not much

Nobody can tell you your yield! That simple. There are too many factors that affect the outcome. I do agree that with a 200w cfl you are going to produce bud, just not much. You probably have your reasons for wanting cfl but if you are going to drop that much into a tent you may want to spend the little extra for a decent light. A magnetic ballast and bulb doesn't cost much more than a ton of cfl's and the fixtures to plug them into.

I would do a parabolic scrog and be happy to get 2 oz, ecstatic with 4. Mind you, I have no experience of autos.

i did the same thing... not as long but i grow outside.. set up some cfl's, im not too dissapointed but if youre gonna spend that much get an hps setup

Frikin' HATE auto's but that's because I like the control I have over my plants.
This is probably a thread too, or else it should be...
People here are not trying to be scornful, rather just pointing out some issues (in their own way) and trying to get a point across.
I canker that spending $'s on a grow box would be better spent on some plastic black-out and some GOOD HID lighting. The cost for a good lighting system will be returned in a decent harvest. CFL's are really only effective for cloning as their penetration into the plant's canopy is severely limited. About the only redeeming factor is that they don't run nearly as hot and use less energy; but to use them effectively to grow and flower MMJ, you'd need a bunch and wind up spending more in the long run and still get worse yields. Indoor growing is tricky and requires far more attention to the plants.
Most indoor growers average 2-4 ounces/plant, and I use that loosely. Some people have gotten figures in the pounds too. It all depends on about a dozen factors and is way too easily misunderstood. There is no hard and fast rule of yield vs strain wither it is Auto or not. I guess the single most simple factor is Sativa vs Indica on an indoor grow. This is why there is so much popularity and experimentation with the Hybrids of today's availability. The breeders are trying to create the best of both genotypes in one plant and keep it consistent. Hope this helps...

its simple man , there is no way to tell how much u will yeild...bottem line. there are to many factors to add to the equation. nutes, light, envioment..ect. with 1 plant under cfl's, dont expect much. what u can expect is some light fluffy buds due to the use of cfl. imo those lights are garbage for flower cycle. im sure some will argue the fact the cfl are good workable lights but the simple fact is that they just dont do a GOOD job. i can bud under my night stand table lamp or the lights under my celling fan but it does not mean its going to be worth the effort. my advice is to get a real light bro and put 3 or 4 ladies under it and get urself a decent harvest

Really compacts\fluorescent lights just aren't as efficient as HID lighting. 200 watts of HID is going to emit quite a bit more lumens per watt than 200 watts of CFL lighting will. If you have a 400, 600 or 800 watt HID ballast with a high pressure sodium lamp, it is going to emit much more lumens/watt than the equivalent # of fluorescent bulbs. We're talking like double the lumens per watt: a CFL might just give you 70 lm/W while the 600 watt HPS is going to give you 140+ lm/W. And the way HID light penetrates can't be beat.

Of course you have heat to contend with, but even with the added cost of running a high output exhaust fan and\or an air conditioner, an HID is more than likely to save you money as well as give you higher yields.

What lighting should he use? Wouldn't any other get too hot? its only a small space and because its a hydroponic set up , wouldnt the excess heat cause too much water in the air? What about using LED lighting? I was going to use the cfl becuase that is what is included?

in a small space heat is only a prob if u dont have good air circulation. most houses have an average temp inside that is perfect or close too perfect for growing MJ...unless u live in the desert. what im trying to say is if ur house stays generally between 65-80 degrees and u have a couple fans keeping the air moving and circulating in ur cab, then u should have no prob runnging a 400w or smaller light without having temp issues. an air cooled light should be flawless in a cab and if its not air cooled, just position ur fans around untill u find the sweet spot. point 1 fan directly at the light to blow the hot air off of it so it will disapate in the enviorment and have another fan at the top of ur cab sucking or pushing air out. put a hole the size or close to the size of the fan pushing the air out on the bottem (cuz thats where the coolest air will be) to replace the air going out. its called a passive intake and it works great for cabs. or u can do the complete oppaset and put the blower on the bottem and the passive outgoing on top..good luck dude

Is that really what's included? I don't know about this tent/closet or how big it is exactly, but aren't there ports for intake\exhaust ducting? A 250 watt HID doesn't get too hot, especially if you've got an air-cooled hood with it. You're going to have to vent the tent anyways.

Im emailing the guy from supercloset atm. Im going to see if he can remove the cfl and place a 250watt HID or something similar.

My comment was helpful. If you are going to take the time and money to find and purchase this expensive grow box, you should also look into investing in the right lighting. At least better lighting. CFLs are fine for small, cheap grows but you've already surpassed that with the expensive grow box.

Whoever wants to sell you that box with CFLs must believe you are growing parsley in it, not MJ. But that is OK, they don't have to know what you grow. You need to know that better lighting is needed.
