How many watt for 1 plant? (Fluorescent light)

Wen you are buying Fluorescent light(s), how do you know
how much you need? it is in watts right?, so if a person has 1
plant, how many watts would he be looking for

cfl's? I'd say 86 watts 2x43 watts (150 incadecent equiv). minimum the more watts the more bud!

50 watts bare minimum, 100 watts per plant is better. 150 - 200 watts per square foot is excellent.

Flouros are fine and all when vegging and cloning but if you really want to grow nice bud might as well just buy a 250W+ MH HPS light, then you'll be much happier.

^Agreed. If you're on a budget, and want to go with only 1 light throughout the entire grow, go with HPS. A MH might do a little better for vegging, but, the efficiency and spectrum, of the HPS, would make it the better choice, because it will yield better. The payoff at harvest, more than makes up for anything it was lacking, during veg. CFL won't compete so avoid flowering with them, if at all possible.
